Hello,

New here, hope I'm not too arrogant to post right away. :)

I just received a checklist after a after sending in the I-864 for my wife and I'm not completely sure on what exactly I need to send in.

I believe I just need to send in again the I-864 for myself and the I-864 for the co-sponsor (my father) + explanation letter for the lack of a W-2. (I work overseas for a foreign company)

=> New I-864s as I'm missing page 12 for both because I thought it wasn't needed since it's a "add more info on this page if needed", but I have no info to put there.... /sigh

What I'm concerned about is whether I need to include all the other documents again (1040s, proof of citizenship, etc.)

Am I right that I only need to send in those 3 items with the checklists of course?

Here's the info from the checklist:

[x] I-864, Affidavit of Support Checklist

[x] The Form I-864 we received was missing the following page(s). Please ensure you include all 12 pages when you
resubmit the form.
[x] Page 12
[x] You must submit the following financial evidence:
[x] Your 2014 W-2 forms(s).
This is repeated on the next page in the PDF, I'm assuming it's for our co-sponsor:

Thanks Jack, my fear was just whether I needed to resend the whole packet or not again. If it's only the 2 forms it's not so bad.

But what about for the w-2, I don't have this as I work overseas in Indonesia and they don't issue such things. I assume I can just send some kind of documentation for my income + letter of explanation?

Also I hope you are enjoying Orlando, I lived there for almost 5 years while I went to college.

If you are a US citizen, your worldwide income is taxable with an allowance for the first $100,000 or so (used to be mid 90s in prior years.)... You as a US citizen are still required to file US tax returns; if you have not, you are going to have bigger issues to explain.

I've already filed for the past 3 years back in October so I already made sure to clear that part up.

The issue is clearly just that foreign countries do not issue W-2s, so it makes no since for them to request that.

I already attached the 2555ez to the tax return I sent in that showed it was a foreign income as well so it seems inept of them to ask for it.

Soooo.... I will just send in an explanation letter (they won't accept explanation by phone) + maybe some foreign income documents.

That's all that can be done from what I see.

Hopefully since my new checklist is very small and doesn't include any real new useful information, they will process it more quickly. Or maybe that's wishful thinking.

Get the tax return transcripts from the IRS. Tax returns are not just 1040s it's the entire tax return with all schedules, forms, w2s, etc....

Its often much easier and less paperwork to get and send the tax return transcript.

My taxes were quite simple, just 1040 + 2555EZ (Foreign Income) so I just sent those for all 3 years.

Cheaper than having to request for the forms to be sent to my family and then large shipping fees since I'm in Indonesia.

Every time I"ve had to send a package from here it's at least $60 USD, so I try to avoid sending mail when possible.

The process is costly. I would order the tax return transcripts to be sent to your US based joint sponsor. He can then add them to the package you send him and forward on to NVC. The transcripts will require no W2 forms, but make sure the joint sponsor provides either Tax Return Transcripts or their complete tax returns including all schedules, W2 and applicable 1099 forms.
