Hi did u guys get I-797 or I-797C? I got I-7979C? Is that fine or something is wrong with my case? Thanks

I am not 100% sure but its a same thing.

Someone can correct me if i'am wrong .

According to the USCIS website ....

I-797 Notice of Action Issued when an application or petition is approved

I-797C Notice of Action Issued to communicate receipt of payments, rejection of applications, transfer of files, fingerprint biometric, interview and re-scheduled appointments, and re-open cases.

What matters is what it says on the form. You should get a receipt for your application with a receipt number.

If that's what it is, don't worry.

If it says something else, that may or may not be cause for worry.

just received a weird email from "Do_Not_Reply_Lockbox@dhs.gov"

Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your case using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.

So its being routed to another location from Tx ? maybe my field office of Philadelphia ?

Most likely to the field office unless the first stop is biometric processing if that's not done at the same field office.

The three facilities (in Arizona, Nebraska, and Texas) to which applications are initially sent are only receiving facilities.

All applications are then sent to the National Benefits Center in Lee Summit, Missouri for processing. That's why your case number starts with the letters NBC.

After your background check is done, the NBC will forward your file to your local office for the interviewing stage of the process.

JimmyHou my case no doesn't start with NBC do u think is there something wrong with my case ?

I thought all N400 case numbers we're a 13 digit number in this format: NBC*#########. A few years ago some case numbers started with MSC* but they stopped that.

I guess I was wrong.

My case number doesn't start with NBC or MSC.

At one point all case numbers started with NBC. Apparently they don't any more.

Maybe they are processing applications at the four national service centers now increase of the one national benefits center. This would be a recent change.

On your receipt notice, this should be listed under Application/Receipt/Request Number. Two lines down, there's a box titled Service Center. What does that say?

I just checked and I don't see a box titled Service Center. I got the form I-797C, is that the same form everyone's receiving?
