CFO needed to go back to Singapore for Work?

Hi Everyone,

CFO seminar does not accept walk in, I will be getting my passport anytime next week with the visa. The next available appointment for CFO seminar is 7-April-2016. I have not resigned from work yet and Im going back to file my resignation.

Will I be allowed to board my flight to Singapore? I can show the IO my working visa in Singapore and I have my OEC. My family is here in the Philippines and planning to go to the US together once i finished my one month notice in my company. I have stayed here for too long since my Interview and I need to go back to Singapore as soon as possible.

Anyone here who has the same experience?

Once you have the visa in your passport you will not be allowed to EXIT the Philippines without the CFO sticker.

I will call the Bureau of immigration/CFO tmrw to clarify and if they can get me a slot by next week. If not IL try my luck with the IO once I exit PH.

Yes it is, ive been with the company for more than 5 years and I need to resign properly.

Just a thought - One option is to check with the CEBU CFO see if you can get in there earlier. You can do the GCP seminar at either, after you have the certificate you can take it to whichever is closer Manila/Cebu and get the sticker once you have your visa.

You can arrange to get your CFO sticker at NAIA upon departure as well as those places mentioned by Hank.

My wife and I discussed this and we believe that having a valid OEC means that the work Visa may function as a valid overseas residance which may (should) allow her to exit back to her place of residence and employment. Having a valid OEC in this case may make all the difference in the world and we think there is a good chance that she'd be allowed to exit to return to her place of employment for the month. She could bring the child's passports with her with thier visa's as well to further explain her intentions. OFWs are supposedly national heros in the Philipines so let's hope they at least get a little benefit from that. She won't know until she tries and her demenor may make the difference. To OP if you do exit with your OEC successfully without your CFO do please let us all know.

Highly doubtful! Once they see the US Visa in the passport.. they will look for the CFO sticker.

Hi All,

Just called bureau of immigration. They said "since you are going out to your work place as proven by your OEC, they should allow you to board your flight back to your workplace even if you have an immigrant visa". I am on CR1 visa. I will call bureau of immigration at NAIA later just to make sure.

Hi again,

Called Bureau of Immigration NAIA terminal 3, departure department.

OFW going back for work with OEC, Immigrant Visa and no CFO sticker would need to show the following as proof that OFW/immigrant is coming back to PH and to get CFO sticker.

- GCP (CFO) appt slip scheduled at a later date

- Air tickets showing departure from Manila to US at a later date (pt of departure is PH)

One has to probably get to the airport as early as possible so they can have a lenghty discussion with the immigration officer.

Bureau just need to make sure that you register yourself at CFO before flying to the US.

So from what you found out, you cannot fly back to Singapore just on your OEC if indeed you have a immigration visa in your passport and NO CFO sticker. Seems to me you are creating more work for yourself, just so you can "save face" with your company you worked for those 5 years. Trust me when I say this, if in the future you have no intentions of returning to that company, it's best just to resign, get your CFO sticker and fly onto the USA and start a new chapter in your life. I have worked many years and company's do not give a hoot about you. If they don't want you around then they give you the boot with no notice. So, why should you? Rhetorical question, one that you need not reply to.

That is what's amazing to me as well. Why would she just spend all the time, effort, and money just to go back to Singapore to resign if you have no intentions to work for that company again? How long would she be in Singapore a day or a couple weeks to work until resigning? I have known many OFW's and my wife was on of them as well. When she resigned from her employers she just resigned while in the Philippines and that was it.

Just an update. Im here at CFO right now and I talked to the lady at the counter. No slots available today she said and they insist that I get an appt. Talked to the supervisor and supervisor asked the lady to check for available slots this week. The lady asked me to come back tmrw morning for the 9am slot. She gave me a paper with hand written " by chance March 29, 2016 @9am" so the guard can get me in.

BTW, I was able to get in today without an appt because I did the PDOS registration for my son below 13 yrs old at the ground floor and just got up to the 3rd level for the GCP seminar.

Hopefully they will accomodate me tmrw with the paper that was given to me.
