After reading so many horror stories online, i would like to seek for advice before i proceed buying my plane tickets.

My B1 visa was approved yesterday which allows me to stay 6 months in US.

I'm a student (final year) and my graduation is in July. I'm planning to visit my boyfriend (USC) for 7-8 weeks after my final exams and fly back for my graduation.

We have NO INTENTION of getting married, he wants me to visit his family and his hometown since he has visited mine.

1st question: is 7 weeks stay on 1st entry considered too long?

2nd question: should i mention about my boyfriend? I'm going to stay at his house for that 7 weeks. (both me and my boyfriends are university students and in our early twenties)

These are what I'm going to bring with me to prove ties

Financial

Fixed Deposit slips (bank statement) under me and my dads name (around 50k usd)

Property under my name

Credit card

600usd cash

sponsor letter from my dad stating hes covering all my expenses and his bank statement as well

School

Letter from school, exams dates and graduation dates.

What are my chances of getting entry into US if i mentioned my boyfriend at POE? Am I worrying too much or over prepared?

The Visa you got for 6 month isn't for a 6 month stay. You have 6 months of entry. How long you get to stay will be decided at POE(Port of Entry).

At interview did you tell them you wanted to stay 7 to 8 weeks?

If asked which I am sure you will "who will you be visiting?" Or "where will you be staying?", do tell the truth so it doesn't cause issue later.

Just be sure you leave before your stay time expires.

Since your Visa was already approved, the finances were already vetted, you don't need those for your CBP inspection. Don't volunteer information not asked. The worst thing you can do is become chatty with the CBP agent. When they ask a question, answer truthfully without hesitation. When they ask the purpose of your visit, be truthful, and show a return flight ticket as proof of your return, as well as the letter from your school (the school letter may or may not be useful, but it does not hurt to provide it.) Also make sure that your BF is available for a phone call. If you are not scheduled to stay at a hotel, CBP has been known to call the person you plan to stay with to make sure that your story holds true.

What it boils down to is 1) Stay (and accordingly buy your return ticket) until you need to stay for the purpose you applied the visa for; 2) be truthful in response to any questions the CBP officer at entry asks about whom you're visiting.

You know the truth better than anyone else on this forum.

I can only speak from my own experiences. I dont know which country you will be visiting from but... the only questions I get asked every single time I visit the US or any other country for that matter are:

What is the purpose of your visit?

how long are you staying?

what do you do for a living?

My answers

Vacation or visit family (so I don't go into detail literally that's all I say.) For you a simple: vacation, or visiting my boyfriend is enough

i tell them the truth

I tell them what I do for a living (for you I'm a student at "NAMe of school"

I've never brought anything to show ties etc at a POE. All I have is my boarding pass and my passport.

My advice would be to answer honestly but dont ramble on and stay very calm. Good luck.
