I got an email saying on Feb. 24 my case was sent to the Dept of State for Visa processing. How do I get a jump on choosing an agent? I found this link here on VJ http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form. Should I use that? Or do I ask if I can choose an agent when I'm on the phone with them when I call to get my case number? Or do I wait to hear from them? I think choosing an agent is the first step that gets the ball rolling so I want to know how to do it. Thanks.

Sorry, but you won't be able to do anything until you receive your case number and Invoice Identification Number.

If got the email on the 24th about your petition being sent to NVC, then next start calling NVC later next week to confirm they received it.

Once they confirmed they have it, then wait at least one week and start calling to see if they have assigned a case number and IIN. Then you can start the DS-261 and pay AOS fee. Refer to the NVC process link sent by the previous post to mine.

Your petitioner will be received in a week at NVC. Than another 14 to 28 days a Case# is assigned. So start calling in a week.

Once you get case# and IIN than you can do the driving.

The biggest thing to get your case through NVC fast is make absolutely sure you have 2015, 2014, 2013 taxes done and that AOS and IV is sent in together the minute you pay your AOS fee. You don;t have to wait to pay IV fee to send in package this will save you weeks of time.

And read and reread the Bible of NVC processing the wiki given to you. :goofy:
