Hey guys,

I am sorry I know that has been asked many times I guess, but I tried to find out how long it usually takes to get approved after a RFE?!!? And I couldn't find anything so far!

Sure the lady on the phone said: within 30 days, but come onnnnnnnnnn......that's tooo damn long!!!!

Any experiences? I heard that usualy the approval comes close after the RFE is sent back in?!

I really need something to cheer up, because I am pi**ed and sad as hell!!!! :crying: :crying: :crying:

Yes, got it today. I can tell you that we're not the happiest people right now. :-( At least I got to take some of my frustrations out on the lady on the phone from CSC.

What is it about?

The lady on the phone couldn't tell me. She stated that, because she doesn't have our case file there's no way for her to find out. We'll have to wait for the letter.

Well we don't know yet.....we just got the email....no hardcopy yet.

Our guess is: G-325A, birthcertificate (long form) OR more proof of meeting....but I guess it's between the first 2

Please keep us in the loop on the specifics behind the RFE ... my friends got one for not providing a Circumstances of Meeting letter and not having dates on the proof of meeting photos. They say it stalled their process by about 3 months (CA Service Center).

Hang in there ... my friends just made the move to the U.S. this past Saturday. I couldn't even describe to you how elated they are ... "surreal" was a word used quite a bit. One thing was clear - every minute they suffered through the K1 process was every bit worth it!! Besides, that was just their case - your case will likely be very different and, depending on this RFE, perhaps a shorter delay.

Besides, German food is bland.

3 months!? Scary! I didn't attach a circumstances of meeting letter... I just wrote a few sentences in the box where it said to. Should I have elaborated more? I said "I first met Ombeni while I was studying abroad in Tanzania in April 2006. He was a server at a restaurant where I was eating. I then returned to Tanzania from 12/06 to 03/07 to visit him."

Diana

Diana,

if you send back exactly what they want - I guess that's all they wait for before they approve you... straight after they get the info! :)

I'd say only this: pay attention to the PO Box address where you send the RFE reply (our went to the wrong place which prolonged the delay).

Good thing though was - they approved us 2 days after they sent email that RFE reply was received and processing resumed! Does that help? Good luck. I hope you have everything ready and your plans work out just fine! :)

I129F process:

20 July '06- I129F filed with CSC (Got a lawyer - BIG MISTAKE... Didn't know of VJ!!!)

28 July '06 - NOA1

06 Feb '07 - medical

12 Mar '07 ----- INTERVIEW ----- A P P R O V E D -----

4 Apr '07 - US entry - San Francisco

1 July '07 - MARRIED in SF :)

AOS process (after K-1):

24 July '07 - AOS application received by Chicago Office

24 August '07 - RFE for I-485 (incomplete tax info sent!)

28 August '07 - NOA letters for AOS, EAD and AP

29 August '07 - Biometrics

AP - 12 October '07 - hard copy: multiple travel, valid 12 months

EAD - 18 October '07 - hard copy: valid from the date of 1st notice of card production

SSN - 30 October '07 (married name), applied Oct 18, same day I got my EAD

DL - 11 December '07 - driving test at DMV San Francisco. Yay! Now I can drive on the "wrong" side of the road!

21 November '07 - AOS Interview (Letter rec'd Oct 15) ----- A P P R O V E D ----- A P P R O V E D ----- A P P R O V E D -----
