Interview 22nd Feb - Need to Reschedule - What to do?! Already filled out two Internet Forms!

Hi All,

Due to unforeseen circumstances, my fiancée and I are no longer able to Marry within 90 days of entering America after my Interview on the 22nd Feb. We'd planned on March 26th to be married, however now looking at August.

The issue being I already had a Family/Religious trip to America arranged for March 22 - April 5 and the plan was to combine the two... however now this isn't possible.

I filled out my original form a week ago today and my second one this morning, but I am yet to hear back from them. I know its short notice and maybe I am being a little impatient, but I am concerned that I will not get a reply by the time my Interview comes around.

If I miss the interview will they reschedule or will I have to do everything all over again?

Does anyone have experience of postponing their Interview to a later date?

you should still be ok, your visa will be valid for 6 months after your medical and then once you enter you get 3 more months, so an August wedding should still be ok

When did you complete your medical, and if you reschedule are you planning to do your medical again

Worst case scenario, go to the courthouse, and then have your big wedding when you can.

Your visa is Valid for 6 months from when you did medical., asuming it was done at London(My medical was 22nd DEC and my visa expired on 22nd June). You do have 90 days to marry once you enter USA so if you had med in Jan you must enter USA by July and must be married by October per say.

Ive used the embassy inquiry forms to ask them to reissue our visas- it took them 5 days to respond and were very helpful, granted i need to do medicals and fees and interview again -

so depends on when you sent in your form depends on when youll get a reply

It's the immigrant visa form that has a place to tick reschedule.

If your medical was in January, then you would have until July to use your visa, then 90 days more once you enter the U.S. And you are correct to reschedule for after your trip so the visa would not be in your passport on your visit.

Morning All, thanks for the replies. Yes this is the Form I have used. First time was last Wednesday and second time was midday yesterday.

I am incredibly concerned about not getting a reply from the Embassy before my interview on Monday. If I haven't received a reply do I still go to the Interview? Can I tell them at the interview that I wish to reschedule or can I just not take the right documentation and force a reschedule?

I need to enter the States in March/April on a Visitor Visa, come home for the interview and then enter the States in May/June on the K1.

I tried to call and they advised that they do not accept phone calls for Immigration Visa queries.

I have done multiple searches etc. What else can I do?

Sometimes they are slow to respond, but a week should be enough time, even with the holiday Monday. It is possible they have cancelled you and aren't confirming. They would send a new interview letter when you get back on the schedule in a couple of months.

If you attend on Monday, you just explain your travel situation. You can still be approved verbally, but not leave your passport with them for visa issue. When you are ready, your send the passport back via their courier and they will finish the processing and issue the visa. You won't have to go back.
