US Citizenship Question

I came to the US in 2013 on a L-1 visa, I met my husband and we got married pretty soon and got my greencard in 2014. Does my period in the US on my L-1 visa count as a permanent stay? I am supposed to extend my green card in July but wanted to know if I already qualify to apply for citizenship since I have been here technically for 3 years. Would appreciate any input.

When does your green card say permanent resident from?

It's three years minus 90 days from that date.

It's not based on when you entered the us, unless you came in on a spousal visa. If you had a two year green card then you need to remove conditions.

For example I entered the us on February 19th 2014, got my green card on July 14th 2014 and so I must apply for removal of conditions from April 15th 2016, my 2 year card will expire on July 13th 2016, and then apply for citizenship from April 15th 2017.

No , your stay here in the US on L1 is not a permanent one. the card issuance date on your green card is when it starts, which you will use in the future to naturalize (if desired) on the basis of 3 year rule.

Your legal residency began the day your green card was issued. So 3 years from the issue date on your green card would be your anniversary date. Just be sure to file your naturalization forms 3 months before your anniversary.

Your marriage was less than two years old when you filed to adjust your status to LPR, so you were issued a conditional LPR card. You have to file I-751 to remove conditions on your card on the second anniversary of your residency (meaning two years from the date on your current card, file 90 days prior), to get the 10 year LPR card, before you are eligible to file your N-400 the following year based on marriage.

Your L-1 period of stay does NOT count.
