Hi everyone. I am shippıng my I-129f package tomorrow. And I always seem to find something new to worry about. :( My fiance (the non U.S citizen) is 20 years old. I just turned 18 about 3 weeks ago, and am a bit worried they would decline because I am very young. Am I just being paranoid?

You are over 18, so you are fine from that point of view.

The length of your relationship may raise a few questions, as well as can you support your fiance when they arrive, but age alone is not a cause for denial, as long as you are legal to marry, which you are.

Your age wont matter with regard for your I-129F approval.

However, when it comes interview time, your fiance may face several deep questions about the nature of your relationship. However, all that can be overcome with strong evidence of a genuine relationship.

Be sure to visit her often, and have constant contact with her via Skype, text, calls etc.

You'll both be fine!

Good Luck!

Thank u everyone. Mike-eeh-and-odie, my fiance is the guy lol. I am a woman :) I think i am just paranoid and keep thinking of reasons why we could get declined. We have been living together the last 3 months. I am living with him in Turkey until we are able to move to the U.S together. We do not want to split apart anymore as we went 2 1/2 years skyping before we could meet. We have thousands of skype messages, hours and hours of phone calls and many texts :) Thanks for the reassurance everyone

My apologies, haha!

I think i am just paranoid and keep thinking of reasons why we could get declined. We have been living together the last 3 months. I am living with him in Turkey until we are able to move to the U.S together.

Well if anything can prove a bonafide relationship, living together sure does help! :D That said, be prepared for a CO to ask your fiance, "Why do you want to marry and live in America?" It's a question they sometimes ask, as they did ask my wife the same question, to which she replied, "Because the man I love lives in America, not the Philippines." :)

You are a bit paranoid, it's normal, I was there when wondering if my wife's petition would be denied. But I got alot of comfort and support from my family, friends, and of course, VJ.

We do not want to split apart anymore as we went 2 1/2 years skyping before we could meet. We have thousands of skype messages, hours and hours of phone calls and many texts :) Thanks for the reassurance everyone

My advice from this point would be... save EVERYTHING, every receipt, every text, every email, every phone bill. Even things like trips you take, places you visit, pics of souvenirs, etc. They all add to a profile of a couple that wants to be together. And after you marry... save EVERYTHING! Anything that you did, gave or received as a couple, like greeting cards, receipts for trips, honeymoon anyone? Even bills, in yours and his name, deeds, wills, etc.

Good luck!

As you guys are now living together in Turkey you would need someone to act as a joint sponsor for financial purposes because you have to show American income. Unless you have enough savings or work for an American company in Turkey.
