We have (NOA2) and status now shows “READY” on CEAC Status Check. We haven’t received the NVC or embassy letter's yet, but I’m sure the NVC letter will be here soon.

  • We have paid for and filed the online DS-160, and have that confirmation page.
  • I also have screenshot showing Case “READY” with MNL# on that.

Fiancée wants to do her medical this Thursday 2-18-16, the problem is we have not been able to schedule interview because March calendar of available appointments hasn’t been opened yet. Therefore we will not be able to present an interview appointment confirmation page.

Any Suggestion’s?

Can't do the medical without the embassy appt scheduled. Once the embassy appt is scheduled you can use that email confirmation page instead of the NVC letter or embassy letter....which most in the PI don't ever get. You just have to wait for them to open March, no choice...unless there are appt near the end of Feb you are willing to go to.

Maybe you just were using the word scheduled out of ease, but just for clarity sake, SLEC is not a scheduled thing but just walk in only.

Thank you, I've heard of other VJ members doing the medical at SLEC without a scheduled interview at embassy. I'm hoping to here something from them or someone who knows how they did it.

I really don't know how they did that since it's a requirement, but I follow and see if someone pokes their head in.

  1. Visa Interview Appointment Confirmation from the U.S. Embassy , if available
    • Principal Applicant - original & 2 photocopies
    • Derivatives - 1 photocopy each
If Visa Interview Appointment Confirmation was received via email, print 2 copies for the principal applicant and 1 copies for each derivative.

I don't understand what they mean by if available??? If I remember correctly the VJ member I read about said they just needed the NVC letter or the scheduled interview confirmation page so SLEC would see proof of a case number. That is why I asked if it was the screenshot of "READY" status on CEAC that was needed, because it prooves case is ready to schedule interview and it shows MNL# case number.

As mentioned the embassy states on their website you need EITHER the NVC letter OR the appointment confirmation from USEM for the medical. Also as I mentioned before I know of others that have brought copies of the CEAC status page and completed the medical without issue.

And I will add that if you email NVC requesting your MNL # (as detailed in the guide below in the flashing arrow link) and they reply with an email, you can bring copies of that to SLEC to complete the medical also

Do follow the SLEC website for number of copies needed.

Also make sure to pre-register on the SLEC website to save time during the medical

That is not true. Read the embassy requirements for completing the medical.

She does not need an interview appointment. A screenshot of her CEAC status should work fine. If there's a clueless new guard on duty at St. Luke's, ask to speak to his supervisor.

Ok my Fiancee went to her medical on 2-19-16, luckily, we received email from embassy with interview appointment confirmation one day before. My fiancee showed up at 4:00am in morning and there were already two people in line, she was third; however there ended up only being 10 people in line so she really didn't need to be there that early.

This is what the guard was looking for to let you in the door: The NVC Hard-copy letter showing your MNL case number, or the email interview confirmation letter showing appointment is scheduled at embassy, you only need one or the other. However their was a person who talked their way into door using CEAC "READY" Status Screenshot copy. We have also read a few times before of K-1 applicants doing this successfully, we have only heard of one person being turned away.

My wife and her friend slept in, then ate a leisurely breakfast, and then they wandered over to SLEC at 10:30 a.m. There was no line at that time, so they got right in. However, there are times when SLEC is so busy that they do not accomadate late comers.
