LOST MY ID PLEASE HELP

Hello there,

First of all, I want to say that your forum/website has been very helpful to me and my girlfriend

Here is my issue, currently gathering all the documents needed to send the I-129F Package, i'm french by the way, so while doing photocopies of my passport, french ID, birth certificate etc. This was done a week ago, and TODAY 02/10, I noticed that my FRENCH ID was missing, I must have lost it while doing those photocopies but just noticed it today. I already sent the package to my US Girlfriend which contained photocopies of passport, french ID, birth certificate, fiancé intent letter. Not sure if my FRENCH ID is that important right now anyways but I'm really panicking about the face that the photocopies of my french ID won't be valid anymore since I lost this ID, so what should I do? I know that doing a new ID will only require 2 to 3 weeks, but it's a long time knowing the processing time of a K1-VISA.

I really need help about this, I checked the list of documents needed for the I-129F Package, and didnt see anythinh concerning my french ID.

Please help me.

I'll share my husbands story, very similar to this. A week and a half (or so) before his visa interview he lost his cedula (ID). He immediately replaced it. The ID number was all the same and there was no probs or questions at the interview.

The French ID does not matter, it is our pasport that counts.

The only way the French ID would matter is if you are not a French citizen, in which case, at the interview, you will need to prove you are legally resident in the country to be allowed to interview there; but if you are only sending off the I-129F now, interview is 6+ months away, and you can easily get a new ID by then.
