I really hope this issue with updates not showing up on the App gets resolved in really depending on them showing up for my interview time as I will be going back to Canada soon.

can't you ask someone, friends or neighbors, to check the mail for you while you gone and keep you up to date if anything uscis related arrives? That would be the safest bet since you cannot really rely on the online system at this moment (greencard approved last monday, still saying case received, was the same with my ead and ap as well... online status updated like 1-2 weeks after it was approved...)

Met around 2011/2012 in a game (league of legends) super random, best friends ever since... grew closer as friends and desided in 2013 to try dating, flew over and we had a click =)

We just moved to this apartment and I don't really trust anyone with that important info. I guess I will just have to call USCIS periodically asking for tier 2 each time.

Hold onto your hat its going to be a bumpy ride!!

but don't worry you'll get through it :luv:

Anyone here experienced trouble changing last name on their Social Security Card?

I received my EAD combo card as well as Green Card month ago and headed immediately to the Social Security Office (4/27). They would not let me do the change with EAD and required GC. After I showed them GC they said there are some problems and it might take a few weeks for me to receive my me Social Security Card.

I called the Social Security Offices yesterday (5/19) and they had no update on what's going on. In fact in their database SS record is still under my maiden name...

Anyone encountered similar problems? I hope this will not get me in trouble as I will soon (in 1-2 weeks) accept a job offer and wonder whether this might be a problem when I start working.

Btw. sorry if this topic came up here, I find it hard to keep up with all the posts.

Thank you!!!

My name got messed up in the save database too it took two months to get my SSN card with my married name. I had an original when I got here on a K1 I went and got it two days after being here but when I tried to change my name the boarder had entered my middle names wrong so it took a long time at DHS to approve and send it back.

It's a pain in the butt but you just have to wait it out.

Hold onto your hat its going to be a bumpy ride!!

but don't worry you'll get through it :luv:

Long time no posts!! Been so busy last week since we celebrated my birthday all weekend hehe.

Anyway, Congratulations to all those who got approved!!!!

As far as my SSN goes, I still have no idea how its doing... Been waiting like hell ugh

I went to the office (5/9) and been told that I have to wait up to 4 weeks for DHS verification. Went back on 5/16 (a week after) and tried to follow up on my application. Turned out the lady said my application last 5/9 wasnt in the system!!!! UGH that one week that had passed has been for nothing and the lady didnt even care! Now I gotta start waiting all over again. The lady gave me the same receipt (dhs verification) but she said i should be getting my card in the mail in 2 weeks.

Just really frustrated cause I requested to expedite my EAD and now its taking forever to get my SSN and I cant start working til I get my SSN

Oh wow, I hope it gets solved quickly and you will receive your SSN soon - good luck!

I will go to the SSN office on Monday to follow up. Foolishly I trusted them and waited since the lady at the SSN even gave me a confirmation letter with a reference number. Based on your experience it might as well be the same with my case and ultimately I might find out my request is not even in the system :(

I have tried using USCIS website tracking:

https://save.uscis.gov/CaseCheck

with a look up based on my alien number and it did show some sort of case review under Maryland (??? I live in Ohio) SSA Office but at this point I don't trust it much. Nevertheless, I do have a SSN, so hopefully that will allow me to work even if the name is not changed and therefore varies from the one on my Green Card...

I just looked at the case check and it showed my SSN case which got approved it says case returned. It took 8 weeks though so be patient.

Oh wow! Okay, I am barely at 4 weeks, so more waiting aaarrrggh. The K1/AOS is real life lesson in "learning" patience!

Under my Case check I could literally see when it was "Case Under Review" (which took 6 days). Now I see "Case Returned to Agency" status but it still says its in Maryland SSA...?

I guess more patience and will go check in my local office on Monday. USCIS is in the same federal building so I might just as well go there, too.

Thanks for the heads up!!!

My case is currently at my local office and like I've said I'm worried something will happen on it and I won't see when I'm on vacation. Do you guys think it would be a good idea to make and info pass appointment and inquire in my case or should I just keep calling the USCIS number periodically ?!

Hi.

I tried to use that site but I get this message:

"No cases found that match the search criteria" I am using my Alien number and birth date. Please let me know how it works, ?? I called uscis 2 days ago and the agent asked me to not to wait for a green card in the next 7-8months. Not sure if it was just to get ride of me lol or if that is true.

Thanks in advance.

Anna
