Are the interviews actually face to face like in a room, CO at a desk and you sitting across or are you like standing in front of a window and they are behind a pane of glass like a bank teller? Just curious

So I wouldn't call it a room. It's a deep booth. It's open where you walk in, and walls on each site, and the booth is a few feet in. There's a window separating you from the CO.

kind of like this. You remain standing.

Absolutely -

I had the same guy many people have referenced - younger, brown hair, glasses. He was really nice, and after I gave my finger prints again after doing the oath, joked that my finger prints are really clear and if I commit a crime I'm getting caught for sure. Lol. He commented that our file was huuuuge and we had way more than we needed (better safe than sorry lol).

Questions asked:

Asked how I met my wife

what she does for work

asked how often we saw each other

how I knew the joint sponsor

That was about it. Was pretty quick, he reviewed a few of the documents, typed some things on the computer.

She finally made it in (after more delays!) at around 12pm (was supposed to be at 1045pm the previous night). I was done eart enough that I had enough time to walk back to the hotel and then leave to pick her up. She was pretty sad that she missed being there for it, but quite ecstatic with the result :)

Edit: forgot to add. My interview time was at 10:30. I showed up at 9:45. I was out before 11.

So awesome!! lol hopefully my husband will get the same CO. I have read other friendly reviews about him. Thank you for the info. T-minus 27 days until ours and hopefully we get the same ecstatic results! Enjoy your time with the wife on your visit. :)

Thanks! Good luck!

I'll definitely say that it was the easier part of the process for sure. Even though I knew we had everything we needed, was still pretty nervous - with the amount of time and effort spent in this process. It was almost anti-climactic with how easy it was. :)

Wow! That is in and out very fast. I wonder if the CO is random that day, or they know ahead of time which CO has which applicants.

I filed the same way, it's perfectly ok. Just bring everything with you incase the ask for it, in our case they did not ask for tax info but I was ready with it.

Thank you for responding. I will make sure he has the 2015 transcripts with him but that he should only provide them if they ask him for it.

Thank you again

It was - I was really expecting to be there longer. Especially since when I got there, there was a guy who's appointment was at 830, and he didn't get called for his interview until around 10am. But they sped up quite a bit as mine was only around 15-20 mins late.

As for CO assignment - I believe it's random - after you give your documents at the first booth, they will give it to a random CO. While I was doing my interview, she came and dropped off the documents of the person he was interviewing after me.

So far all the reviews I read from Montreal no one has been there for more than 2 hours or so, maybe 2 1/2 if they are a little on the busy side. Gobucks I am putting in the request now, nice guy with glasses handles both of our interviews and hands out nothing but approvals! :)

I appreciate all of this valuable information! I will definitely have to share it all with my Hubby when he gets off work. I wish I had my phone on me so I can call and see if/when the interview will be! Best of luck to all of the other people going through Montreal!! And of course to anyone else dealing with this process.

We found out our interview date by calling NVC 8 days after our CC. We never even received a CC letter, just the interview letter the next day after calling NVC. Definitely call if you can just to see, it can't hurt. :)

Nope not random. They are assigned to a CO and they do their interview prep just like we do. Now a CO maybe assigned and lets say CO #1 gets all the denials for the day, CO #2 gets spouses with the kids. It just depends.

So once people have their interview dates scheduled, how long have y'all been waiting to get the written confirmation/instructions from NVC?
