Yeah, so my point is, updates begin only when you know the card is on its way. That's what happened to me.

We got a "card was picked up by the US postal service" update on ELIS, then 2 days later "Card was delivered by the postal service".

Where is the ELIS system ?

You need the IOE number that was on the confirmation page when you paid. It is NOT on the email receipt. It will also be on the paper when you receive the card.

The payment confirmation page should have the IOE number. It's below the USCIS Receipt Number heading, and looks like IOE**********.

It is NOT included in the email, sadly!!

This is crazy! I printed the confirmation screen and have the email confirmation there is no such a IOE number. Is it 10 or 8 digit? could it be the alien number ?

I suggest not worrying about getting the physical GC. It's being produced and should automatically arrive when ready.

In the meantime, the I-551 stamp will suffice wherever the physical GC is required.

I see you applied for SSN walk-in. I did the same thing. Apparentlyas per packet instructions, the USCIS will issue and send GC and SSN card, I guess they are trying to make it easier for new immigrants without having to go line up and apply at SS Office. I hope they won't issue a duplicate SSN

USCIS does not issue social security numbers. That would be the Social Security Administration.

Don't know the specifics but the instructions said that it will be mailed out.

The USCIS sends the info (sometimes) to the SSA when you request the SSN on the DS-260 after entry. However it doesn't always get sent. SSA does not issue duplicate cards. If one is headed to you, they will refuse to send one when you apply in person.

When I applied in person at the SSN office, i asked them to do a search to see if my name pops up anywhere, because I checked the box Apply for SSN# on my DS-260 form.

The SSN came in a week. but the green card is taking a while.

They must have updated their system or something because the USCIS never gave me a IOE confirmation number and without it no one can help now only after 60 days-if i haven't received the GC by then.
