Hello, I have been in AOS waiting to be approved for a green card. I switched from a F-1 student visa holder because of getting married and finishing with my education. I have not had insurance since finishing school as I had student insurance, and have been trying to figure out something for now. I received a work authorization, but know that most jobs do not offer insurance until a few months into working. Would anyone have recommendations or advice regarding what to do? Do all insurances accept AOS people, or only certain plans? What is affordable or smart? I feel as though I am stumbling around in the dark about this. Thank you for your help!

Thank you! I have been looking into the Marketplace and have been slightly confused... On my Marketplace application, for example, Cigna Health Insurance showed up, and I was told that only what I was eligible for would appear. But when I tried calling one of their agents, I was told that Cigna doesn't offer any non-citizen healthcare. Would anyone know which carriers offer health insurance to non-citizens?

Big difference between non-citizen and non permanent resident. I'd clarify that, my husband's company had Cigna plans and green card holders (me)were considered valid US persons and can be covered. I haven't heard of plans that only cover citizens, most cover people with a valid US status. Where that leaves you might be a problem
