I know that there is no rhyme or reason to how USCIS processes cases, but I seem to be one of the first February filers from Vermont, and have not yet been approved.

How long do I wait before truly freaking out? There's nothing odd about our case and my fiance has never been to the States, but I just don't know what to think right now.

What do you recommend, other than a prescription of Xanax?

I know that the VJ timeline is ONLY a guideline based on others' experiences, but the date given was March 5:

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as March 5, 2007*.

If this date has passed by more than 10 days or your application is past due per USCIS processing times then you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition. If you have been approved please update your timeline.

Obviously, the second paragraph is a funny message...the USCIS processing times are in August!!!

There's no reason that I can think of that'd we'd be denied, but I don't know how long to wait before being worried that there's actually a problem

Help!!! I know that there's no specific question here, and I'm soooooo psyched for safitu and tonyeck, but I feel like the cheese right now...the cheese stands alone.

Also, when you turn on email notifications on the USCIS, it doesn't show up that you've actually done that, right? I click it on and click it off when I get all nervous, so I don't know if it's actually on or not.

Being a person who freaks out in these situations (Have done it before with another visa to the states a few years back) I can relate (to an extent anyway).

You say you have called them correct? If so, try again and try and get a LIVE person. Maybe that will help a little, even if it says they do not have any more upto date info...

I also kept clicking the email on and off to see if it would trigger my emails to see if "CRIS" was getting blocked by spam or anything. As long as email says "Y" you will be fine :)

Your receipt date was the 9th wasn't it? Hmmn, I know there are still people who had a reciept date of the 6th and have yet to get it (from another site I stumbled across). My best guess is that it does just depend on whose desk you are on. I am sure it's coming soon. I know thats easy for me to say after getting it today, but do your best to stay positive. You know you wont get denied - It is just taking a bit longer to get too unfortunately :(

Keep us updated though...

I'm so sorry! There is no rhyme or reason to any of it. Keep calling and talk to a live person. I just said politely and calmly " I know someone who sent their app a week after me who already got approved, dont you process them in the order recieved" " well if you need more information you will contact me right?"

not sure if this is what caused me to get approved on the same day i called? dont know, but please keep your faith. im praying for you. its coming soon.

Thank you both!!!

Safitu, but how did you actually get a live person? Did you go through the RFE prompt? I'm going to call after I walk my poor dog, who has been waiting patiently during my "episode." :)

Oh we remember feeling like that last year. It is so hard to be patient when you are waiting for the one you love so much! How do you make it through the wait? For us, lots of prayer and trust that the Lord loves us, brought us together, and will bring the whole process to a conclusion in HIS time.

Today we are here in Arizona together, and all that stress, sadness, impatience and difficulty seems like a distant memory.

Be encouraged that this journey has an end soon, and then you will finally be together. The most difficult part is still ahead. Waiting for the interview date, going to the interview, coming into the port of entry and then the AOS procedures.

So, this present wait is good conditioning for what is coming ahead of you. But we can tell you that it is all worth it! How wonderful it is to be writing to you from this side of the process. Hang in there and be encouraged, WE ARE PRAYING for you!

This is the time it gets really hard to be patient. don;t be too hard on yourself. USCIS does process in the order recieved, but some petitions take longer to process than others. Each case is unique. I hope you do get an answer very soon. Once you get the NOA2 things will start to move more quickly. (F)

I know how you feel - really our approval didn't take long at all, but I did watch my VJ friends who filed after us, get approved before us. It is so frustrating in the moment, and even though you're happy for them, you wonder 'what about me'.
