I'm sorry for such a bad experience. Your entire process is not easy, I would say with obstacles - the mail with your biometric and interview notices were sent to the wrong addresses and such a terrible interview now.

I'm sure you will be approved right away when IO gets your submitted documents.

Sometimes all the negatives are stacked in line on one person.

In my case, all during the citizenship process went fine. The Oath Letter came into my neighbor's mailbox. Good that I was in touch with few people here on VJ. USCIS did not have my apartment number on the letter. Mail man found 2 USCIS letters in series, put both in one mailbox. Good neighbor calls me at work, I pick up letter from him during lunch time. He gets interview letter and he has my Oath letter with no apartment number.

I stay in an apartment complex, all mailboxes are clearly marked with last names on the insides. Plus USCIS can seriously mess up addresses. Never had any mail without my apt number by them. I could have missed my Oath.

I recommend everyone to take note of average processing timeline in your local USCIS office, call USCIS when your closer to that timeline.

Hello all! Though this is my first time posting, I have followed this thread carefully since January as I am a January filer. My case was derailed by an RFE but I was placed in line for oath ceremony on 6/23 according to text/email status. I have still not received a letter saying my application has been approved. Is this normal? Also I live in small city which is 90 minutes away from Dallas. According to the East Texas District Court Website my naturalization could be in either Dallas/Tyler/Beaumont. Is there anyway for me to figure out when I can expect my oath ceremony? I know Dallas has oath ceremonies twice a week. I am wondering why I have not been scheduled yet for one of those ceremonies. I have no plan to change my name. Any insight you can provide on my case will be appreciated.

Done. I had my citizenship today in San Diego. I couldn't ask for a better experience. My officer was a young American man, he was very polite and made me feel relaxed. While siting in the waiting area I've seen other officers coming in/out and they were older and Philippino/ Vietnamese/ Mexican race. They looked very angry and people that were leaving their offices looked stressed. I am saying that just because I've got a feeling that these officers in a past probably also immigrated and now acting weird. Back to my experience.

15 minutes interview and I am waiting for my Oath Ceremony, the officer promised me the end of July. He was also very kind helping me with my petition of changing my first name. I know I am almost the last one in this thread getting citizenship, but still wanted to share my excitement with you.

Congratulations! I had my interview in SD and unfortunately I was one of those poor soul who got interviewed by the Filipino officer. I did came out of that interview feeling defeated.

I paid $25 for mailing. Total was $165 - $110 for passport book, $30 for passport card and $25 for mailing.

I paid $25 for mailing. Total was $165 - $110 for passport book, $30 for passport card and $25 for mailing.

I paid the same. After comparing few places in my area, all the prices remain same, only the mode of payment changes. Looks like a standard price.

It's a great idea to check if a university of public college close by you has a passport centre. These places are privately owned and authorised by the government to do passport applications. Mine was much relaxed, no crowds and excellent customer service. Mine even offered passport photos for free. Total 165/-

The other options like the Clerk of Court and USPS are generally crowded and chaotic. The Clerk of Court wanted 15 USD extra for 2 pictures.

Congratulations! I had my interview in SD and unfortunately I was one of those poor soul who got interviewed by the Filipino officer. I did came out of that interview feeling defeated.

Any news? I feel like we gonna have our Oath in august ((( it is already the middle of July.
