Hi everyone,

I want to thank everyone here so much for all your insight, posts, advice, and guides on the entire process of getting a K9 visa. This site is such an invaluable resource, it's unbelievable.

Today, I received an update on my USCISApp that my "Case Was Approved"! Our I-129F petition for Fiance(E) Visa was approved and I will be receiving the approval notice in the mail!

My question now is: what are the next steps that I need to know? Could somebody else who has gone through the process PLEASE enlighten me! I would be forever grateful for any help you could provide!

I've gone over the the Process Flowchart on this site here:

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow

However, I still feel unclear on a few things. For one, on step 9 of the flowchart, it mentions that my fiancée will have to bring forms to the embassy for her interview, but when I click on the link, there are no forms that we haven't already filled out and submitted in our package (besides the affidavit of support). What other forms are there? Or is it just the affidavit of support?

Also, from my understanding, I will receive my notice of approval in the mail. She will receive instructions including an interview date at the embassy in the mail at her home. Is there some way I/we can track the package from the embassy to her home? How does she respond once it's received? Is there anything that I need to do? It seems like after submitting the initial I-129F package, I actually have very little to do now, and that doesn't feel right . . .

And final question: what will the interview be like for my fiancée? If somebody here has some experience and could give us a heads up on what type of questions to expect, that'd be great. Will it be in English at all? How can we "prep" for this interview?

Sorry for the long post. I truly appreciate anybody who could help. I'm still so nervous, despite getting this approval notice!

Thanks!

You are done with the I-129f/USCIS portion of the process. Now you will move to dealing with the Dept. of State and applying for a K-1 visa. The info on the Bogota consulate site says they will email the instructions once they have your case. Check out the consulate site and the Bogota info page here on VJ > http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Colombia&cty=Bogota

Thanks for the links! Wow, it really does seem like from here on, my part is done and it's all up to my fiancée now. I'll assist however I can, of course, but

Can somebody tell me about the questions that will be asked at the interview? Or are they different from embassy to embassy, agent to agent?

Congratulations on your approval!!

Wait 1 week and call NVC (National Visa Center phone number 6033340700) ask for your BGT case # with that your fiance can go ahead and fill the ds160 online form and select the date of the interview in this page: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-co/iv/users/sign_in

Once you know the interview date call one of the Drs and schedule labs and medical examination.

In the meantime go to and take a look at the checklist needed for the interview, I posted my package of instructions, you need to fill the I134 affidavit of support form and send it to her with your W2 and 1040 forms from IRS.

My interview was in september, very easy process less than 4 minutes, basic questions such as: name of the petitioner, length of the relationship, how many times did he visit you,etc here you can find more reviews and advice:

If you have any questions just send me a message, and congrats again!
