Hi Everyone,

My wife and myself (the beneficiary) are preparing our I-130 package (application from abroad) with the aim to have it mailed by the end of January 2016 .

We had a look at different resources (USCIS, Travel State, etc.) and we have to say that VJ is a GOLD MINE.

We are sure to find here the positive vibes to help/guide us during this upcoming journey !

As said above, we are gathering all the needed documents to build our I-130 package and the proof of relationship/marriage aka Bona Fide is our main concern. We don't know how extensive should it be ...

Here are what we prepared at this point :

o Primary Evidence

§ Copy of marriage certificate in 2010 (+ translation certified by us),

o Secondary Evidence

§ Copy of our child birth certificate (+ translation certified by us),

§ Copy of our child consular report of birth abroad,

§ Copy of a recent Household Composition Certificate delivered by the Municipality City Hall (+ translation certified by us),

§ Copy of a recent Proof of Healthcare Coverage/Insurance which started back in 2011 and is valid until 12/31/2016 (+ translation certified by us).

Should this be sufficient?

Do we need to add more evidences?

  • Pictures taken during different trips, since 2008 until today,
  • Flights/Hotels/Car Rental reservations (emails)? ... we dont not have all the receipts anymore,
  • Anything else?

Are we taking too much precautions by asking the above?

We dont know and hope some of you will reassure us ...

Thank you !

My husband and I lived in his country together as a MARRIED couple for about 1.5 years, our son was also born abroad. I only included his Birth Abroad, our marriage certificate, and my residency card for that country as evidence. I didn't even do pictures, or conversations or plane tickets, and we have been approved and are waiting on our interview date.

Met in and lived in beneficiary's country 2010-2012

Applied 2012-Approved K1 in 2013 (approx 8 months Noa1-approval)- decided to postpone marriage and live together in beneficiary's country before marriage.

Married 11/30/13 -lived together until filing

Filed for K3-04/06/2015

Noa1 04/06/15

Noa2 08/06/15

NVC case # 09/18/2015-case became CR1 (it's true what they say K3 is obsolete-don't even attempt it)

Paid AOS 09/18/2015

Paid 261 09/23/2015

Sent AOS and IV packed 10/07/15

Scan date 10/08/15

DS-260 10/14/2015

11/10/2015 Found out I had a checklist

11/18/2015 Scan date for information they needed after talking to someone over the phone regarding checklist

11/19/2015 FINALLY recieved actual checklist

11/30/2015 Sent one more extra tax transcript to avoid any possible further checklists

12/16/2015 Requested an Expedite

12/29/2015 Expedite approved, case being sent immediately to Embassy/awaiting interview date

12/31/2015- CEAC shows case as IN TRANSIT

1/11/2016- CEAC shows READY

1/14/2016-Received interview date/packet-case became IR1 (married more then 2 years)

I would include pictures and boarding passes/passport stamps of visits/trips together. Being approved by USCIS doesn't really mean you've proven that you're in a bona fida marriage and you'll get your visa, that's up to the discretion of the CO at the interview. And before you go to your interview, the CO will read your case, including the proof you submitted with your I-130 and already somewhat make up his or her mind whether this is a real relationship or not. People get denied at the interview all the time and their case sent back to USCIS for lack of bona fida proof. So make sure to submit a variety of bona fida proof with your I-130 and then bring some more to the actual interview.

Good luck with your visa journey.

Hi Mallafri76

Thank you for the tip.

Just to be on the safety side, I believe we will do so.

Only "potential" issue, on my side, is that I lost my previous passport which included most of the WPV stamps when my wife was still in US prior to joining me here in 2010. I can only associated the pictures of that period with flights/hotels reservations. I hope this would be acceptable as there is a reason behind.

Wishing Everyone a Happy New Year 2016!

Thx

Hello,

We are getting closer to finalize our package !

Last question, I hope, regarding the pictures and etc. ...

Do you think that we should also include some pictures prior to our marriage (visiting each others)?

Thanks!

I would.

Include whatever you think demonstrates that you are a genuine couple. Imagine giving all the stuff to a stranger in the street who has never met you. You have to have enough to convince a complete stranger that you are a genuine couple. And then some to allow for the natural suspicion of the person actually working your case.
