My husband and I just got married and we are filing for his AOS but we keep coming across questions about the I-94. He never received an I-94 to our knowledge. One question on the application says "I-94 arrival departure record number"
Where can I find this number or is it possible he does not have one?

Also, what do they mean when they ask "current USGIS status?" and how do I find when that status expires?

Then it asks "Place of Last Entry Into the United States" And what was the status when he entered. Is this referring to this last time he entered on the K-1 or are they referring to the last time he visited and left?

Thanks guys, I would really appreciate your help. I feel like getting through the k-1 process to get him here was more clear but filing for AOS seems more confusing to us.

The I-94 is issued electronically. You can obtain his here: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/consent.html

Current status: K-1 visa holder

I believe the expiration date will be on the I-94.

Place of last entry: Where did he enter the US? Put the city and state here.

What status did you enter: K-1 visa holder

I think you can go on the US Border patrol website and look up your I-94 info. When I entered the US, the customs guy stapled one into my passport next to my visa. It is a just the US customs record of entry/departure into the country. If they did not put anything in your passport, then try this:

http://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/i-94-instructions

Also, check on VJ for the 485 example form. I think it will help you with the other questions. I don't have my copy near by so I don't know what I wrote... my hunch is that it is the date of entry.

Yeah the forms are always confusing! Just when you think you understand one, you get another!!
