hi,

This is my first time posting, but visajourney has already been so helpful!

I am currently a student. Prior to this August I was a teacher.... So my tax returns will show this income . However, right now I have seasonal job at the mall. I worked their for 3 weeks and then I stopped bc I came to Brazil to be with my fiancé for Christmas and go with him to the interview. I don't know if I will continue with this job when I get back as it was just seasonal work for Christmas. My dad has agreed to be my cosponsor.

So here are my questions....

1. Can I put my occupation as student ? Or should I put it as my part time job? ( I only have one pay stub for $35 )

2. How many previous tax returns are required? Also, are bank statements required? Will 3 previous tax returns and pay stub be sufficent for my dads affidavit?

Thanks so much!

Lorin

1. Put it as student, because that is what you do right now. Since you have a co=sponsor, having 0 income should be ok.

2. Three years is prefered. If you do not have them because you were a student before too, that is understandable, just write a short letter of explanation. No bank statements needed unless you want to show assets, though some show bank statements if they only get electronic paystubs, for example.

Being a student is not a job. You are currently unemployed.

You and the co-sponsor need to provide the most recent tax return, and your joint sponsor needs to include proof of their current income as well with a letter from employer and/or recent pay stubs.
