Annual Income Estimate for I-134

Hello Fellow VJers!

I am currently in the process of filling out my I-134 for my fiance's interview which is coming up.

For annual income, I am having a bit of an issue.

I am paid hourly, not yearly. I know that usually what people do is just take their hourly rate and multiply it with how many hours they work per year..

That is a bit of an issue for me because due to the nature of my job, I can be paid at different rates and have different hours depending on the time of the year.

However, I am in the unique position of it being very close to the end of the year (Jan 1).

Would it be a good idea to just use the number I have for my YTD earnings directly from my pay stubs? I will not be making any more this year and the number is very similar to what it was last year, so I feel that it's a good estimate for my yearly salary.

Actually yes you certainly can do that! It likely is a more accurate representation of what you make per year.

Awesome! I figured it would work, as it's an exact total of the wages I made from the beginning of January 2015 to today, but just wanted to make sure!

Well as you will not be earning any more this year, you already know your complete years income. You should have your 2015 tax returns to show as proof long before he gets his interview.

Yepp, already have all the evidence such as tax returns and bank statements and such, I just needed to finish filling out the actual form. There is another month to go before it happens, hopefully I can finish this 2 page form before then!

Yes. And send a photocopy of it to your fiance to take as evidence. A letter from your employer would be good too. It can state you are employed and made x dollars in 2015. That's all you'll need for a London interview.

I already have the letter from my employer which breaks down what I make during each season. The math isn't actually done for them in the letter though, which is why I am going to include my most recent paystubs and I am going to highlight that YTD Net wages line.

So essentially the amount is there on the form, employer letter, and my pay stub, the YTD wages is just the "cleanest" final total.
