Hello everyone. I just called my embassy for information about my interview and they said that my case was still at the NVC even though I got CC on 12/23. Any advice on what I should do? It's frustrating because I thought my case automatically transferred to the US embassy in Korea after CC but I guess not. How long should I wait for the NVC to transfer my case? Please help. Thank you!

Your case won't be transferred to the embassy until like it's near your interview day. You should be waiting for your interview letter and when your interview date is approaching, your case will be transferred to the embassy.

Just called the NVC and they said that the lady i spoke to at the embassy was mistaken. They dont transfer your files until an interview is scheduled. So basically, i have to wait until the interview date is scheduled now. Its already been 19 days since CC. Kinda pushing it. Considering calling the embassy again tomorrow and asking how long it takes for them to schedule an interview. Best of luck to all of you! I've heard scheduling an interview can take up to 3 weeks so lets hope we get some news this week!

From the spreadsheet I saw that usually the interview date is assigned around 7-10 days after case completed. Wonder why seems no interview dates are assigned in various countries these few weeks

It really depends. If the embassy or consulate in your country has an open slot, they will try to schedule you right away. Some countries will just take one day or days. While others may take a week or two or even longer. It really depends. But once your interviewed is schedule, get your medical examination and vaccination done immediately.

yes that was what i expected also, i had been check on HK's US embassy website and there are open slots all over. I called over and they said they didn't get any request from NVC for a slot, while I called NVC and they said there are nothing to do with them and they said the embassy is the one who assign interview dates. I am so screwed here, it had been taken so long for this whole journey and we finally got a case completed. It's so frustrating to see that it is now sitting there and waiting for nothing and no one can give me an answer.

I've heard that Hong Kong uses CGI Stanley for appointing interview dates. Try calling the embassy, than asking for your temporary username and password for CGI Stanley, and then make an account and register for an interview that.that's what I tried to do all day today but no interview spots were available for my case :( hopefully you have better luck

Yes I logged on to the system however they only have choice of scheduling K-1/K-2 visa. I don't see any options on IR-1/IR-2...

oh my god... Why just nothing is going my way................

You cannot schedule an IR-1/IR-2 interview. The NVC schedules it for you. If you have to wait, you have to. You can only schedule a K-1/K-2 or just K visas. Anything that is an immigrant visa (IR-1, IR-2,...) will requires you to wait because the NVC does all the scheduling.

sigh, NVC keeps telling me the US embassy in HK schedules it, and they said they are waiting for the embassy to give them the timeslots, i am so frustrated and confused here, as I can just see on the spreadsheet, a lot people that got CC later than me already have their interview date........

A little different for me here, took me long time for NVC to review my case. And also time does matter for us... it's kind of my mistake that we had made several arrangements before the visa was granted so my family are now separated, and also my daughter had already quitted her school back in Hong Kong for couple of months already. That's why everyday counts for us, was thrilled when I got my CC on 12/30 and I thought we would get an interview date assigned soon in experience to the spreadsheet of Hong Kong embassy here which mostly takes a week. However it's 2 weeks from now I think they hate me because I called almost everyday.
