The U.S. Supreme Court took up a major new abortion case on Friday, agreeing to hear a challenge by abortion providers to parts of a restrictive, Republican-backed Texas law that they contend are aimed at shutting clinics that offer the procedure.....

....The abortion providers contended they were a smokescreen for trying to close down clinics to make abortions more difficult to obtain. They said that before the law was passed there were 42 clinics in the state that provided abortions. After the first part of the law went into effect, more than half of those clinics closed, leaving 19 currently open.

I am prolife, but legally I must agree with the abortion providers. The Texas law is trying to block abortions through stiff regulation. I can easily draw a parallel to how new gun law proposals function and effectively conservatives are trying the same thing with abortion that progressives are with guns.

I am also this way. I consider that to be the definition of pro choice. That means not interfering with the rights of others.

I am pro-death. I have little to no respect for those that call themselves pro-choice.

Only a complete sociopath could be pro-death. Still, I believe you.

Texas will lose this, as they should. It's just a back door way to outlaw abortion, and it will fail. It baffles me that Republicans support forcing people to have children they cant afford. Ohh wait, the party was hijacked by gun nuts and religious crazies. Makes sense now I guess.
