My daughter has to select one and write a short paragraph about why she believes the 'title' to be deserved. What would your answer be?

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

LOL

At the mere mention of his name, my mind starts reciting:

King John was not a good man

He had his little ways

And sometimes no one spoke to him

For days and days and days

Anyways... no votes for George W. Bush ????

Yes. After all, he DID make the power of the Brit Monarchy from absolute to constitutional (figurehead).

Considering what MT did to the mining industry, I'd say she was one of the worst.

But there's any amount of reasons to choose from really, that's just one close to my heart.

But King John was also one of the meanest, untrustworthy and underhanded monarchs England has ever had. He certainly wouldn't be on my list.

If we are going for English monarchs then Queen Elizabeth I is FAR superior.

Oh, among US presidents, the only two I would bother putting on the list were:

  • George Washington (as he WAS the first)
  • Abraham Lincoln (held the country together through Civil War, which was more than any subsequent president could have accomplished)

Not too many women rise to top positions in the country (Ie. PM's/ Presidency).. That and her length of term as PM is quite staggaring.. Those were some of the reasons I put her down.. Not really to do with policy, but obviously she did SOMETHING right.. the old girl.. to last that long in such an important position. One can be a great leader and pass bad policy.. IMO. Leadership has to do with the act and capacity to lead.. not necessarily with their political stance on an issue. Just my opinion of course :)
