Hi, I have something to ask. My fiancé and I is now processing the papers for k1 visa and now I'm getting worried because of our age gap and we only met in person once anyways our age gap is 36 years.Do you think I will be denied because of our ages and he only visited me once? Anyhow we always talk on Skype everyday. I hope you can help me about this matter. God bless!

Hey Lour

Know that It's normal to feel that way ... Ok? The purest form of love we have/show doesn't differentiate or see age, color, ethnicity, social status etc etc...

Have faith and believe in your relationship. Remind yourself of the PLUS stuff not the MINUS stuff (him meeting you once...)...

Having him at the interview will give you the encouragement and support you will want and need and his presence may help your case with the CO.

All the best in your journey!

An insulting comment has been removed, and draconian administrative action has been taken against the offender. Post constructively, or don't post.

I think the age gap will raise questions for sure. Only meeting once will raise different questions. Hard to say if you will be denied for both or either of those reasons. Just be well prepared to answer questions and have all your documents accurate and complete. You will be asked to send in proof of your relationship and the skype records will be needed for that. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi Ditdot, if my fiance will go with me during my interview is he allow to accompany me?

Im sure there are others on here that can shed more light on this through their own experiences BUT yes, as far as I know the Manila Consulate allows the petitioner to accompany the beneficiary to the interview. :star:

(Do a lot of research and prepare yourself well throughout this journey)

Yours is not the "record", largest age gap I have read of for the Philippines is 47 years. They had no issues. :)

As others have said forget about the age gap and focus on your relationship - that is the BIG deal, showing a genuine relationship. All will be good with that!

Welcome to VJ! Don't worry, there is nothing wrong with your post :) Providing help and information is exactly what we're here for.

Eighteen years in the US and I still don't understand Velveeta, TV ads for prescription drugs, only getting 2 weeks paid vacation, or why anyone believes anything they see on Fox "News".

Nope -- someone else's. Elf is correct, just above.

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."
