L2 dependant of L1b visa expired 7months ago.Urgent help

Hi My friend just renewed his visa from L1b to L1a visa last year in Dec2014 and now the new L1a is valid till 2017. his wife was a dependent and was on L2 visa then.

My friend did not get her visa transfer to dependent of L1A at that point in Dec 2014 as her visa was expiring in March 2015.

he did not renew her visa till date and now his wife's visa is expired..and she is in the US. Is it illegal for her to stay in the US with current L2 as expired. Please advise urgently

  9. 11/3/2015: Received hard copies of NOA1 for i485 765 131
  10. 11/6/2015 Got Biometrics Appointment letter
  11. 11/17/2015 -Completed Biometrics
  12. 12/22/2015- Initial RFE for Birth Certificate- uscis asking to submit non availability BC.
  13. 01/03/2016- EAD/AP Card Approved.
  14. 01/05/2016- Received EAD/AP Card in Post
  15. 1/12/2016- Submitting Birth certificate

One is a stamp on her passport that lets her in the country, the other is the document that tells her how long she can stay. What's her latest I-94 say? When does her stay expire?

Not necessarily. If his visa type changed then his original petition was probably canceled and her dependent visa was canceled with it. I recommend talking to the company lawyer about this one, she could be in trouble.
