Hey,

So I'm pretty new to this but I'm totally loving all the info posted on here one thing I couldn't find though.

My fiancé is in the US military and is above the poverty line by 125% so we are good their but he is getting out of the military November before our prospected interview date he signed up for national guard and will be going to school in January since he made the required income on his last tax return will that be enough or will they wonder how much he is making in the future job because national guard doesn't pay as much but he will be getting housing allowance so he might make above poverty.

All in all I'm wondering if the tax forms for this coming year are enough or do they need to know how much he's making in the next fiscal year.

Thanks you in advance

Hold onto your hat its going to be a bumpy ride!!

but don't worry you'll get through it :luv:

I think it's 50:50. You guys meet the requirements currently, which is what is required of you now. It's a matter if the interviewing CO asks about the future.

You will need to do the I-864 once you have entered the USA. So If he doesn't make enough then, you will need a cosponsor.

As for right now, on paper you meet the requirements.

Past year's tax returns are useless if there isn't enough current income. That is key. He can use a cosponsor if needed.

The money in is account isn't an asset it's cash wouldn't that be enough ?! There is only the two of us and he has over 23,000 in cash and then assets on top of that

We have a co sponsor as well but I'm trying to find out if we have enough to do this on our own.

I believe they only use 33% of cash to count towards the income.

I believe it is 100% over poverty line for military, not %125. National Guard qualifies.

Yes, for military it's 100% - http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf
