Hello,

Me and my wife are currently getting ready to send in the IV and AOS package. I had a question. Can I leave to go to Europe for family visit for a couple of months while this process is going on? I don't wanna take any risks so I just wanna know if me leaving for a couple of months would affect the visa process at all.

Thank you.

Are you the US Citizen or the intending immigrant? The worst that could happen if the US Citizen leaves the country, is they may miss some request, and delay their process until they can respond to it.

No I am a nepali citizen living in nepal. My wife is american and she lives in in america right now. I need to go to europe for a couple of months. I am guessing as long as i respond to the required paperworks on time and make it on time for the interview, it should be fine? Are there any rules saying i cant leave the country while the process of visa is ongoing?

Yes you can visit Europe while the nvc process is going on. Most likely it will take longer then a couple of months for the process to be finish at the NVc.
if you have not already you should call the NVC and give them yours and your wife e-mail address to the NVc
