Hey folks,

Giving an update on my interview which took place at Newark, NJ

The whole process took maybe 20-30 minutes, we waited for 1h...

We had bad luck - the officer was rude and not very nice (she was just a bit** sorry for my language)... I could tell she is unhappy with life and was never married.

She was very surprised when we told her that we have no joint bank account. And the truth is we have no joint bank account or utility bills because we just split everything in a simple way sort of (for eg. I pay electricity and internet she pays phone bills etc.)... which I explained... and also told her that with today's modern technology we can transfer each other money with no problems within seconds.. Plus I do not see a reason to open one why should we?

We had lots of pictures (thank god) with wedding pics and engagement pics... also from our trips all over the world... this helped a lot. Also our recent travel itinerary and planned trip to Italy. I also have my wife on my health insurance plan, and some other minor evidence like apartment renters insurance with both our names etc.

To give you some advice:

- Make sure you come prepared, I thought it will be easy and stuff - it's not, trust me I left with bad taste in my mount.

- Some officers are just unhappy people and will make you feel miserable, be prepared and always stay professional.

- Bring LOTS of evidence - trust me on this one, bring everything you can...

We did not get approved on the spot, she said the decision will come in mail. Right after interview on June 24th we traveled to Italy for two weeks - which we also told her - she said that she will put our case aside since she can't approve/make decision on it when I am away from US...

Now that I'm back to US from Italy trip with my EAD/advance parole card I hope to hear something soon...

Good luck!

P.S. also I think the officer is the one who has to update case status... And she did nothing to update it... our status says same things from long time ago when I sent RFE - "On December 3, 2015, we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485". She also looked unorganized and office felt filthy, yuck!

In case you don't hear any thing than file Online Service Request for USCIS web, they will usually respond in and around month. after month, if u still waiting, take info pass.

In my case office told that I will receivers paper work in a week, but nothing for next 3 week. I did service request that case taking longer than usual, as officer did not give me any paper work at Interview. after month of service request they assign officer and approve the case.

it took 55 days to get paper work after Interview.

Thanks for the advice. I think I might wait few weeks more or till 22nd of July - this will be exactly one month after the interview and then file an online service request.

Will keep you guys posted.

Hi there,

I wonder if there are any October 2015 filers for AOS still waiting for a decision on their green cards? I had my fingerprints taken back in November 2015 and got my EAD/AP card in February this year, but the only thing I heard from USCIS regarding my I-485 application was a letter they sent me saying that I may skip the interview and that they were experiencing a delay of around six months, which is going to be up in a couple weeks.

However I know about other applicants who filed way later than I did and already got their green cards, so I was wondering if there are any more people waiting like me or whether my case is exceptionally delayed.

Thanks!

So I called today, and as expected did not get anything from the customer service... just a usual response: "withing normal process time"... bla bla

So I went online and did an online inquiry/request...

I'm still waiting. Response to RFE received in November, and no status updates since then. I also received the NPIW. It seems like I just keep getting stuck in immigration limbo.

Congratulations! That's great news!

Has anyone who received the NPIW letter done a service request? Wondering whether it's worth it, or if I'd just get the "experiencing some delays" form letter.

Thanks!

Soylent,

It won't hurt... I would do it.

Note that it will take them additional 2 weeks to respond to your request.
