Hi everyone, my interview has been finalized with the US Embassy in Islamabad for November 5, 2015. I am not in Pakistan and will be back by October 24, 2015. That will leave me with 1.5 weeks for my medical examination, will that be enough? Secondly, if anyone has previous experience of their medical examination, please share as Im confused where to get it from, Wilcare or Al Noor. Thirdly, I have no records of previous vaccinations so what should I expect and what will the cost be of the examination? Thanks alot for any advice/input.

This should be enough time since it seems to be a week max to get the report. I do not believe it matters where you go since the exam should be the same everywhere. It is perfectly fine if you do not have vaccination records. The cost should be about 125 usd, depending on the cost of vaccinations.

It was on September 2, about a month ago

It does not take too long, they take a chest x ray they do some tests and check your vision and give you necessary vaccinations and that's it

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

08/15/2015 - Paid AOS fee

09/01/2015 - Sent IV and AOS package

09/03/2015 - Scan date

09/09/2015 - Got DS-261 reviewed on call

09/10/2015 - IV bill available and paid the same day (currently "In Process")

09/11/2015 - IV bill status changed to "Paid"

I think you'll have enough time. When my husband had gotten his medical done, I believe it only took 5 or 6 days to get the results (had the medical done on a Wednesday and picked up the results on that Monday). I'm not too sure about Lahore, but my husband had his medical done in Islamabad at the Aziz Medical Center. I know he told me it took a few hours total. They do the basic exam, X-rays, take blood sample. Since he did not bring any vaccination records they gave him 5 shots (3 in one arm, 2 in the other.) it might be different if you have vaccine records.

I would plan for about $125-$130. I'm not sure if different medical centers have the same prices or not, but it should be around the same.

My wife is in Lahore and is about to schedule her medical exam. She's a little uncomfortable about what was written in the FAQs on the NVC website, in reference to "external genitals". I apologize if I'm being a bit too personal or inappropriate, but would you be willing to share any details of your experience with the physical exam so that I can pass along your comments to my wife?
