Hi Everyone,

We have a scan date of Sept. 8th, and got a checklist today that looks like this:

______10 - FRANCE POLICE CERTIFICATE:______________________________
France: Extraits de Casier Judiciaire may be obtained by any person, regardless of
nationality, who has resided in France at any time, provided such residence occurred after the
age of 15 years. Persons born in France may obtain the certificates from the Greffe du
Tribunal de Grande Instance at their place of birth. Persons born outside of France may obtain
them from the Ministere de la Justice, Casier Judiciaire National, 107, rue du Landreau 44079
Nantes Cedex 1.
The applicant should furnish his/her full name, and any other names (including maiden), by
which known, date and place of birth, father's full name, mother's maiden and married names,
and place of residence.

Is it true that we will have to wait 60 days after we submit his police certificate for it to be reviewed!?? We got our packages reviewed in less than a month, and this checklist is for something extra since my husband lived in France for 11 months, not the one year that the NVC requires one to live abroad in order to provide a police certificate.

Has anyone experienced something like this? that was not their mistake but the NVC just decided they wanted to see it? and how long did it take for everything to get back on track?

According to what i read says if he resided in a foreign country for 12 months and you say 11

you would have to prove this

but it may be easier just to pay for the French police document / don't fight it / do it and send it to them

It does take at least 60 days to get the file review once they received the missing document. Your husband will need police certificate from every countries that he's lived in for over 6 months since he turn 16.
