Hello everyone! I'm happy to say that I'm about to begin my application process for my fiancé from Peru! I've gathered all the necessary documents

and now all I need to do is write the check and send it out! To what agency do we make the check or money order for $340 USD? Is it the Department

of Homeland Security or USCIS? I'm not sure....I plan on using FedEx to get the ball rolling! Here is what I've enclosed in my I-129F package....

I-129F application

G-325A for my fiancé and I, with a passport sized photo

US Passport copy and birth certificate copy

12 photos of her and I together in Peru, dates written on back

Letter of intention to marry with both of our names on it, with both signatures

A four page letter telling the story of how we met in Peru

14 snapshots of Facebook communications on random days over a 4 month period

4 Visa credit card statements over the 4 month period I was in Peru with my fiancé highlighting places we visited

1 recent phone bill from US cellular showing 12 toll calls to Peru

Is this all that I need to get started? I've enjoyed this VJ website so far. Lots of useful information.

Something else to add to my package for my I-129F...

A printed itinerary documenting my trip to Peru on March 9th and returning on July 15th (I don't have the original boarding passes anymore)

One concern I have is that my fiancé signed some of her documents in Peru, scanned them, and emailed them to me. Do you need a wet or

fresh signature rather than a copy of one? I hope not, since sending things to Peru can be costly.

Any other recommendations, or this enough to get the process going without getting an RFE. From what I have read from others, I appear to be

in good shape so far. Suggestions appreciated! Thanks....

Many things are costly in the process. Everything is supposed to be original wet signature.... G form, letter of intent. You will find stories of people who have made it through just fine using faxed ones, but that it not the norm. If they notice it's not wet ink you will get a RFE. You make the check/money order out to who it says in the instructions....read it. A four page letter is entirely too long, most letters are three or four sentences at most.....they literally just want a quick blurp on how you met. Everything looks good though.

You very much need to re-read the instructions and the Guides.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I am not an expert, but yes re read the guides. The letter of intend needs to be two seperate letters I think. And when I look at your evidence, I only see secondary evidence, no primary evidence. Use passport stamps, boardingpasses.

I could have sworn they put passport stamps, but now I don't see it. That's far more important than pictures, Nice catch.

Ah yes, the directions on the I-129F form. I was thinking about instructions on this website! Silly me.

Yeah, I will have to rescan my passport to include the STAMP on it…..

I don't have my boarding passes….do you think that will pose a problem? The letter of intent I wrote has both of our names on it with signatures. It doesn't specify that each one needs to be separate, just states that you need one. I could be wrong, though.

My fiancé and I signed the same letter of intent (it was a wet signature-- we did it right after we got engaged when I was visiting him) and we were approved with no RFE. I wasn't even worried about it, though I read it should be two separate letters after I sent it in. Conventional wisdom here is that you need 2, but I don't see why that would make a difference.

We also didn't have boarding passes (it didn't occur to us to keep boarding passes--we weren't thinking about visa applications until we were engaged and started researching) and that was also fine. We had plenty of other evidence of having spent a lot of time together (passport stamps, itineraries, photos).

Good luck!
