Urgent!!! Police certificate

Guys I'm applying for a UK police certificate and there's a question which I don't get...

have you ever used or been known by any other names? Yes or no

then it says if you have answered Yes to the question above please provide a list of all your previous names below, includingmaiden/married, names prior to and after change by deed poll, and name at birth if different from the above. Failure to answer this question will delay your application.

Previous/former names?

So I haven't changed my name to my husbands last name and I have been using it there in America but not here in the UK because it's not on my passport and will be using it after I get my green card etc..

So because it's not my previous name or former name as I'm still married and will be using it after its changed on the passport so should I put it there on the application or not?

Thanks

It only applies if you have before used a different name due to marriage or legal name change, if not than just check NO.

Are you saying you have applied for a visa (and greencard to follow) in your maiden name? So in your American life you will use your husband's name for everything, yet hold a greencard in your maiden name?

I think the intent of the police certificate is to know any alias you have ever used in case you have a police record in that name. It won't hurt to list your new name as a name you have used. Did you use it prior to today? Then that is former. Right? Today you are Mary Maiden on your application, but last month you were Mary Married in the U.S.

As nick nick has stated

visa in passport name, green card in visa name.
