Hello everyone!!!

I apologize in advance for sounding clueless.... Today marks 25 days since My USCIS tracker shows (July 02, 2015) as the date that K-1 case has been sent to the Department of State for Visa Processing. Does this mean that it has been sent to NVC? If so, will I be informed at some point that the NVC received it? Please help!!!

DOS = NVC. Typically yes, the petitioner will be notified by the NVC in the mail. However, don't expect it. There's many times it's never sent or is so late as to not be useful. The best way to find out for sure where your case is, is to call the NVC on the immigrant line 603-334-0700. They will ask you some questions and then provide you with a case number or you can ask them questions about the case. If they don't have it yet or nothing has been logged into the system, they will tell you to wait 30 days. That's standard language and you don't have to wait that long. You can call them as much as you want to. When you have your case number from them you can use that to track where it is via CEAC. https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx If your embassy has your case you'll have to refer to whatever embassy specific process/instructions from there.

Be aware that it is extremely hard to get ahold of the NVC. They are open from 7am-12am EST. It's often best to get in the queue around 6:58am ish or so. You should expect to be on hold, and it is not a toll free number. You can also email the NVC, however don't ever expect a prompt reply. If you want fast answers use a phone.

Send this to NVCINQUIRY@state.gov if they don't have your case # they will create it and send it to you inside of 2 days. It worked for me.
