Privilege. You may jump through all the hoops and do all the right things, and yet still be denied the ability to do it.

Also I think the term abuse is used wrongly in this.

The US government is not purposely being malicious or hurtful. They are not purposefully keeping you from your spouse but yet they have systems and checks they need to accomplish to be able to grant what you're requesting. but yet only human beings can do those systems and checks.

How can you be denied something, while others are approved with the same background? Isn't that discrimination?

Apparently the U.S. Supreme Court is wrong. You are right. SCOTUS is so stupid; don't know anything about legal rights vs privileges. You are much smarter.

Don't get into an argument with a foolish man. He will pull you down to his level and defeat you with his experience.

Immigration is a privilege. It isn't nor has it ever been a right. Whether one agrees with it is immaterial.

It's not that complicated.

Is it a right to practice medicine or a privilege?

After 5 Service Requests and calling USCIS almost every Monday morning and claiming to them that it was approaching a year after filing my I-485 and soon would be needing another Medical Exam (which I ALWAYS made it clear to the officer that it wasn't fair that I would need to pay for a second medical exam when they were the ones taking longer than normal wait times) my I -485 was finally approved!!!

I honestly believe that one should keep calling and I quoting about your case (remember to demand speaking to a Tier 2 officer). You might think it won't help any but some officers do give you comforting information. I was told once my case was already 87% complete and that soon I should have an answer (and there weren't any issues with my case).

I had also created and InfoPass appointment which would have been this Friday July 24, 2015 which I will obviously cancel.

Thanks to anyone who has given words of support. This is one long journey which is far from over but I'm relieved to be able to have more flexibility in this country.
