Happy Thanksgiving!! I will be even more thankful when this whole process is over and my husband is with me. We probably won't see any approvals until Monday.

I will be thankful when it's over too. I had hoped my husband would have been here this year, but we know we will have all holidays together next year! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving today! We both will have our approvals very soon I can feel it!!

I was just thinking the same thing! If there are approvals, hopefully those people will remember to update their timelines. I get so excited whenever I see approvals happening, even when it's not my own because it means ours is coming soon!

July 17th 2015: NOA1, petition forwarded to Nebraska

July 21st 2015: NOA1 Hard copy received

January 5th 2016: Petition approved!

January 14 2016: NOA2 hardcopy received

January 14th 2016: Case sent to Dept. of State

February 2nd 2016 : received NVC welcome letter along with case and invoice number

May 11, 2016: DS-261 completed and AOS fee paid

May 19th 2016: Immigrant visa fee paid

July 6th 2016: DS-260 completed

July 8th 2016: Our AOS package was received

August 13th 2016: AOS package review complete and visa interview scheduled for Sept 27th 2016!!!

September 21st 2016: Hubbys medical exam

September 27th: APPROVED!

What happens after your receive the NOA2? Are you free to travel to the US at that point? I am desperate to get there to help my pregnant daughter and thought I could go once I'd received the NOA2. Sorry for the ingnoranxe

Yes, unfortunately. Unfortunately the noa2 is only the end of the first step. There are 3 steps before visa is issued and US entry is allowed.

The next step is the NVC (the state department). It's where the financial issues are considered, essentially. After approval there (which can take about 3 months if there's no snags) it moves to the next step.

The last step is the interview at the consulate in your country. This usually happens about a month or 2 after the NVC approval. Then the visa is issued in your passport if nothing else is required as far as evidence.

I recommend studying the timelines of other members here who are from the same country as you. Then you can get a better Idea of how long you will have to wait for your interview and visa.

I know this isn't the news you hoped for, but it's the reality we are all living with here. I've only spent a few weeks with my husband in the first year of our marriage... It's tough. :(

Dec 14 2015: AOS & IV billed (same time as we have lawyer)

Dec 14 2015: Received email with case number and invoice number

Dec 15 2015: Paid AOS & IV Fees

Dec 20 2015: Fees show as "paid".

Dec 20 2015: Email expedite request (financial & medical)

Dec 31 2015: Email from NVC. EXPEDITE APPROVED!

Jan 8 2016: Mailed AOS & IV packets

I'm so excited! I believe this week is going to be the start of our approvals!!! Let's go NSC!!! Good news is coming fellow, July filers! Our long wait is coming to an end soon.
