Hi all,

I got my NOA2 on June 1st.

Now I'm waiting for mail from Frankfurt Consulate.

Does it speed up the process to call NVC and ask for my case number?

Or do I have to wait until I got mail anyway because it contains a document I have to send in before my interview is going to be scheduled?

Thanks

Congrats,

Wait about 2 weeks before calling the NVC. Call first thing in the morning their time and make sure that you have you copy of the petition available for their verifications. Once you have that number you can track it on the CEAC site.Start reviewing the Embassy site for the info you need to have and submit for the next steps

In contrast to everybody else here I say: don't call NVC. Save the money, save the time. I never did and just waited for the mail that they had forwarded my documents to Frankfurt and then the letter from Frankfurt that they received them.

Find the list of required documents on the web, collect and prepare everything, so you can send your package to Frankfurt the day after you receive their letter. You'll only make yourself crazy by checking the case status all the time.

So when the stuff comes from Frankfurt in his case or your embassy of choice... Does it come with an appoinment scheduled on it or do you do things it says then make an appointment? I have my fiance here now on an ESTA and we got notice online that we were approved and NOA2 to come soon after. She is sched back on Aug 12. We got the electronic notice June 30. I ask this because we dont know if we need to move up the ticket a few weeks so she can be home ready for the package to arrive or just go home as scheduled and take care of it when she gets there????? I cant find a single piece of info on this.

Depends on the consulate.

Personally, I don't think your ticket needs to be moved.

It will take a month to NOA2 (well, for us it did) and another week until the documents are at the consulate.

NOA2 could however also take 5 months, who knows.

I tried calling NVC dozens of times and I never got through,

but nevertheless, our case moved to the local consulate rather quickly.

I don't believe that calling NVC speeds up things...but if it does

and someone knows why...then please enlighten us...

That said, if your case has not moved to the local consulate within

3 to 4 weeks, then I would call NVC to see what's going on.
