Packing List - What to bring from Pakistan?

I'm immigrating with husband and son to Seattle, Washington from Pakistan. My question is, what are the things that I'll need/want in the US that I won't easily be able to find? What should I bring with me to the US?

The only things on my list for the moment are:

• Clothes - Pakistani shalwar kameez
• Cooking implements (tawa?)
• Urdu books
• Religious stuff - Jainimaz, Tasbeeh, Quran

Can other Pakistani Immigrants help me put together a more comprehensive packing list?

Great.. You can find everything here... but yes right, why spend in dollars if you can buy cheaper from there i will recommend cooking supplements because its expensive here.

Extra official copies of birth certificate, marriage certificate, school records, medical records, dental records, vaccination records, outcomes of legal proceedings if applicable, divorce certificate if applicable -- in short, any official paper that would be difficult, expensive, or impossible to get after you've left the country.

Thanks for the advice, TBoneTX and Saman_ So now my list has added:

• Tea Strainer, (and maybe some tea? can you get good tea in the US?)
• Civil Records and Medical Records

U can get everything here, USA is like second home of Pakistan, here is a lot of pakistani shops, if u need any religious thing that u can get from masjid, big masjids have book store mostly, personally I missed in UK & even missing here in USA is making Atta machine, which is roundly like 2000 rupees in pak & u can make atta easily lol

Most imp is ur pak dress means shilwar Kamiz, winter & summer both & for winter wool chaader like pashmina

As other friend saying civil documents, if u wanna job or attend school, u will need education documents & birth certificate

there are few emotional things which i my self miss here a lot in usa is my love one ,our festivals like eid and bakra eid. miss the smell of the food these things you never bring here but oly you can miiss when you reach here if you dont have family here.

I don't know specifically for Pakistan, but I brought personal mementos that are important to me, especially if you don't have family/friends who will take care of it, in my case, I knew my parents were moving and I didn't want for them to have to keep track of it.

FYI - do not bring food or medications that are not specifically prescribed for you or easily identifiable as recognized over-the-counter medicines, it's going to create a lot of hassle at your POE with the declarations and checks.
