Medical, Military, Financial Hardships, whatever is important to you. If your case is at the NVC stage, the NVC will send your expedite request directly to the embassy you have elected for your case. That embassy will approve or deny your request

We have been granted expedite & are waiting for an appointment with embassy now. We are still lacking the DS-260 form though. Our reason was for educationally purposes & we will take documentation supporting that to embassy. NVC told me the embassy accepted our case.

It is actually for our American son. Only my husband needs to immigrate, but we asked for an expedite for the dates of school starting for our son. We are still waiting to hear from embassy with appointment date though. The closer we get to the date of school, the more nervous I get. I called NVC today & they said our stuff had just been sent to the embassy on Friday & to try calling early next week. That seems so far away (not really though, but when you are counting each day). It can never hurt to ask. The answer could be either way & if it is no, then you are still where you were in the process before.
