NOT SURE IF THIS IS THE RIGHT PLACE WHERE TO POST THIS :)

Hello there,

I have a concern here, so my son came over here in the US sep. 2014 and he is a GC holder with conditions right now. My concern is that my USC husband is going to adopt him, we are wondering whats the first step? just FYI my son in using his biological fathers last name, do we need anything from his bio-father? :)

Well it's a bit difficult without any clue as to particular circumstances but I would expect that you would need to provide something from the father, otherwise what's to stop anyone just adopting kids without the other parent's knowledge?!

did you study the state laws for your state about adoption?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
