K1 processing questions

We have just started our journey and are currently waiting for our petition to be processed. I try to be patient and check both the time line and USCIS case status daily. I do have a few questions I hope someone can assist with.

Are the petitions processed in date order based on the NOA1 date? Will I see an update on my USCIS case status when they begin to process the petition?

No and No. NOA1 date can give you an idea of approximate adjudication times, but those are exactly that....approximate and not definite. The process is not quite that organized and structured.

as far as updates, I believe you see when they receive it and when its approved. Nothing else in between unless they've changed that part of the website in the past year.

Checking daily could be stressful. When I was going through that part of the process, I found it helpful to go on about my daily life. It made the waiting a bit easier and I didn't obcess over it so much.

Expect a 6-8month wait if your case is at Texas center (number starts with src) and Mayby just a few weeks if you end up at Cali center.

When we first sent our case we sort of knew it would be a long wait and we didn't expect any updates before 6 months had passed, such sort of made it easier to keep on living a normal life. I tried not to check our case that often either since that only stressed me out more.
