Got my NOA2 a few days ago and its all starting to feel very real now. One of the things I'll be looking to get sorted ASAP is a cell plan with data. My iPhone was purchased retail unlocked so any sim should work just need a plan to go with it. In the UK we are soooooooo lucky, we get unlined calls texts and data for very little in comparison to the US. Im a huge data user so I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction or good plans?

i like straight talk mobile also, they have this Bring Yer Own Phone plan - it's dead easy - buy one of their sim cards at walmart (or online at walmart.com) then it's 45 bucks/month, uncapped speed at 5g/month, capped after.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I am using Straight Talk Mobile. Unlimited Calling & Text + 5GB of 4GLTE data for $45 per month. Prepaid and no contract.

Straight Talk runs on T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon networks. The network you choose will depend on what phone you are using and coverage in you area. I find AT&T has the best network coverage and speeds for me. You can pick up a starter kit from Walmart for around $60 with SIM cards for all networks and SIM sizes. The kit includes one month of service.

I have found the customer service surprisingly good and it is very easy to top up using a credit card or a voucher from Walmart.

Also for an extra 15 dollars per month you get a plan with unlimited international calling. So you can call back home.

What do you mean by huge data?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

My husband uses a pre-paid SIM card through AT&T at $45/month with unlimited talk and text and 1.5GB worth of data at high speed and then capped after.

We'll I'm using about 30GB p/m in the UK but thats because I tether my phone to my laptop a lot. I know I won't be able to do that state side without paying a lot. Id probably be looking at using about 6-10gb per month.

after the 1.5GB (I'm assuming 4G) does it drop to 3G or edge? Also after the 1.5GB is it unlimited?

I use h2owireless, it comes with a variety of plans, but you can get unlimited calls, text, and mms abroad for as little as $20 a month. It uses att network. Data plans aren't bad, but it depends your preference. I like the idea if I am short of money I can spend $10 and still call the UK.

Ntelos also has unlimited plans through greenfrog, but their coverage sucks.

I pay $100 for four smartphone lines with T-mobile.

It gives unlimited talk & messages, and 2.5GB (4G/LTE and then drops to 3G after that).

I think google just started to offer pay per (data) use plan
