So I have received my Green Card, all that is done, I need to update my drivers license. Do I need to update my Social Security card as well? It says "only valid with Authorization etc' If so, more time off work all before July 6th.

To get that notification on your SSN removed, you will need to fill out a SS-5, take that, your passport, and your GC to the local SSA office. All of the names must match up, if not, start the name change process mentioned on the SS-5 app.

Up to you. If you do not care about having the "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION" on the card then you do not need to have it updated. If you happen to lose the GC and need proof of being able to work in the US, you can use the SSC without that wording and a DL. Otherwise you will always need to show the GC as proof of work authorization. It is not until you become a USC do you need to information the SSA of your status in the US.

My wife had that note removed once she received her GC. I am not sure if this was necessary, but we decided to do it anyway since we had the time. The name on the GC and her passport do not match, but we had no issues, and received the new SSC in less than two weeks. From what I can glean mostly from here, the people at the SSA are fairly clueless regarding immigration items.
