Problem is, this doesn't appear to be a riot. I haven't seen any reports of property damage or torn down buildings. No fires or turned over cars. There have been some people saying 2 security guards were assaulted, a mother of 3 beaten up, kids smoking weed and drinking, but no evidence of this has come to light. It's looking like less and less of a "riot" and more of kids being somewhere they weren't wanted. Even the white people who witnessed it and took video are saying it was a case of them not wanting the black kids there and that's what caused the incident.

To be fair, jumping the fences and crashing the party wasn't the best thing to do. But neither were the racist comments and Mr. Overzealous coming in like Rambo and making it worse. What should have happened is the party should have stopped and they could have identified who was invited and who wasn't and told them it was a private function and to leave. Maybe the kids would have left on their own accord. But they weren't given that chance...

Let's not get hung up on semantics. Don't want to refer to it as a riot? Fine. If the DJ doesn't send out the tweets about there being a pool party, the whole "incident" probably never happens. I'm not sure why the DJ is getting a free pass from most people here, it's pretty obvious that his actions were the main cause of what happened. He should be charged with whatever they can come up with, disturbing the peace, being a public nuisance and if possible inciting a riot. What happened does fit the definition of a riot, property damage is not a requirement.

Loved Japan. I didn't have one incident. They never bothered me and I didn't bother them. I had a fantastic time there for the period I lived there. I wasn't denied entry to a single place. But I can also speak Japanese. Harder for foreigners who don't.

Congratulations! I have been since 2010, it's been a while. But we have Japanese students at our university. They always look shocked when I speak Japanese to them.

I think the reason the DJ isn't being charged is because his actions didn't cause the disturbance. Like it's been said here, folks have gate crashed parties before and it didn't result in mayhem. The attitudes and comments led to this, and I'm not even sure if a "disturbance" outside of the two women fighting even happened. To date, there hasn't been a single video or account of the assaults or throwing bottles or even smoking weed. And what's worse, the white kids at the party are the ones saying it was based on racism, not being delinquent kids. Because I'm pretty sure if a bunch of white kids did the same thing, I don't think there would have been a problem.

Like I said before, if this was a private function and they wanted them gone, it could have been done without the racial contempt.
