good luck w/ surgery, I am praying 4 u! Hey, dont go back to work too soon, I been thru a surgery, u dont realize how the surgery and anesthesia affects ur body, just take it slow, I made mistake of going back to work too soon, it was disaster....even if doc says u can go back to work , just take some xtra time off! take care!

I have been through a similar thing too. I wish you a speedy recovery and I am sure you will receive the best of care for your surgery and recover well.

Anway, just wanted to know that I am also thinking of you. It is so nice also to see all the women in here all different nationalities but we share a special bond and support each other as women.

Praying for a uncomplicated surgery and a quick recovery!

Ok,as scared as i was and nervous i never would have thought how MAD i could have gotten. I got to the hospital when they told me too, and did everything i was supposed to ie, no eating after 6pm, no drinking after midnight, bla bla. 6 hours after getting there they finally take me to the pre-op room, i get in my gown, my iv is imput, and im waiting, waiting, waiting.....by 7pm (surgery was at 9am) i still havent had my surgery. my hubby is pissed, im crying bc im hungry and cranky by now. 2 hours later my OR nurse comes out and tells me it may be another hour and so and so dr is finishing up. well so and so dr was not my surgeon so i stated "wait, my dr is dr alford" the nurse looks at me and is "oh dear hold on lemme see whats going on". the SCHEDUALER of the hospital put me with the WRONG dr and my surgeon had already finished up for the day!!!! meaning NO SURGERY FOR ME!! i was PISSED. my dr did come to the hospital to talk to me, which was big of her. she did state that i was on her list for surgery but when she got the schedual that morning i was not on it. come to find out it was bc the schedualer put me on the WRONG drs list.

well it was almost 8pm by now and no way i was going to go into surgery. and since the hospital i go to is a first trama hospital, if i wanted it done id have to wait til after midnight in hopes no tramas came into the OR. i was like, i havent eaten in 25 hours or more and im thirsty and i havent had a cig and i want outta here. so my dr reschedualed the whole thing til this coming monday at 8am. im still mad, even tho the hospital promised me a private room when i come back, im still mad. so thats the update. i hope next week, when i come back online i can say something finally went right and i had the surgery.

That is outrageous! If I were you I'd demand more than a private room to help make up for sitting there all day. I hope next Monday goes much better.

That really sucks, as if you had enough things to deal with, screw-ups like that don't help.

I know you and I had a pretty nasty disagreement in a thread a while back but I just wanted to say I hope your surgery goes well. My mother had a hysterectomy a long time ago. She made a full recovery and has had no ill affects from it. I wish you the same.

wow, what a major cluster! I'd be pissed too!

You should sue 'em for lost wages er summat. And for hunger pains. I hate it when they leave you waiting like that, and last time I went for surgery it was only an extra hour or 2 I had to wait. And even that made me feel ill.
