Hi everyone. I'm a bit confused here so please help me out. Do we send in the AOS and IV fee together? Or pay the AOS first? Which is a better idea? Coz we filled out ds261 over the phone and the nice lady said to wait for 7 days for the IV to be invoiced. So what do you guys think? Go ahead with the AOS fee or wait for IV fee and send them together?

Pay the AOS fee first, then wait for the IV invoice to generate, the option to pay IV fee online will get enabled only after they review your DS-261, call them in between, so they will review it over the phone. if you are paying it via check you need to attach the generated invoice for IV fee 325$, which you will receive via email.

Sorry rony.rude, I wasn't too clear on my post. We weren't able to fill ds261 online so we did it over the phone. We chose an agent and the rep reviewed it right there and then. She said to wait for 7 days for the IV fee to be invoiced. That's what we're confused about. We're planning to pay by mail coz we're still experiencing technical difficulties with the ceac website. So do we send in AOS fee first? Or just wait for IV fee and mail them both together? Thanks!

My advice is to pay the AOS fee only, when they are ready with your IV fee, you will receive a mail from NVC with an invoice attached, post-204621-0-92260800-1433492523_thumb.jpg

Regarding the method of payment, the issues with the NVC site is almost received, the issue is only for those who already made the payment via check, it still showing as not paid, if you pay online it can save a lot of time, the amount will get credited in less than 3 days, for mail payment it will take anywhere between 7-10 days. In the current situation the payment will reflect slowly in the nvc website.

Finally, after waiting almost a month for the AOS online payment. My mom was able to pay AOS online.

Her DS261 is completed but not reviewed yet. Im going to tell her later to call NVC and get it reviewed.

How long before the IV invoice/fee available online?

Thanks!

Usually it will take upto 7 days to review it, may be less if you call. once that is complete in two weeks time you will get IV invoice. But in current situation we cant predict when you will get the invoice.

Here's my dumb question of the day

So, i finally found a sponsor, he's my first cousin once removed and he has sent me all of his tax returns for the years 2012 and 2013. He has sent me 1 more document that is

FORM 4868 APPLICATION FOR AUTOMATIC EXTENSION OF TIME TO FILE US INDIVIDUAL INCOME TAX RETURN (for the year 2014)

What do i do now? :S

He is self employed, owns a few businesses, so how do i fill out his income for the year 2014?

AND

Is this extension for a tax return form enough to send along with the i-864 for the year 2014?

Since no one was able to answer my question i think i'll do it myself

So i just got off the phone with the NVC visa sepcialist (forget her name but a really sweet woman) she told me to do the following:

1. Attach a copy of the extension for 2014 returns

2. Get a letter from the petitioner/accountant stating as to they have an extension on the tax returns

3. Attach the 2013 tax returns and show the 2013 tax returns as the most recent tax returns filed on the I-864

4. 2012,2011 tax returns are optional

She said i should be fine if i attach all these items.

This is just for anyone else in the same situation as me! Good luck to everyone stuck in this process!

Hay guys I'm confused, just received a checklist email dated the 21st of May asking my to submit a DS260 I think. Here's what it says...

INSTRUCTIONS FOR: MAIN, JAMIE LEE CROMBIE

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

______CORRESPONDENCE INSTRUCTIONS:_________________________________

When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the address provided.

______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

All traveling immigrant visa applicants on your case are required to complete and submit the DS-260 Online Immigrant Visa Application. Even if you previously filled out a DS-230, Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Form, you must now complete the DS-260 in order to be eligible for a visa interview.

You will find instructions for submitting all required forms and supporting civil documents on our website http://nvc.state.gov/.

Please note the applicant will need the following information to access and complete DS-260:

NVC case number

Invoice identification number

Beneficiary identifcation number for each traveling applicant

If you are unsure of, or no longer have the required identification numbers, please contact the NVC by email at asknvc@state.gov or by telephone at 603-334-0700 and we will provide them to you.

To avoid delaying your visa(s) we urge you to send the required supporting civil documents, for all applicants, together in a single submission as soon as possible after submitting the DS-260.

Your case may be involved with paperless processes for submitting forms and documents. At this time, the availability of paperless processing is limited to selected U.S. Embassies and Consulates. A list of participating embassies and consulates can be found on http://nvc.state.gov/.

Is that what it is asking for cod I submitted it on the 1st of May.
