Some statistics and number crunching :) As of October 23 2015 almost 28% of June applicant still waiting for ( Inline for interview or actual interview ) That is 17 applications out of 61 applications. As per USCIS published data they received 2,14,231 applications for N400 Nationwide between April 1st to June 30 2015. So if we take that number and divide by 3 moths to take an average of per month applications USCIS received that would be 71,410.33 applications for let say in June 2015. So if we take our data on this forum of 28% for June filers who are still waiting for inline or for interview we have 19,995 people nationwide still waiting for any kind of news since fingerprints since June 2015 that is almost 5 months since filing. Great work USCIS!

So me and others who are still waiting are not alone :)

Sriusman, I am so happy to read this! I live in the Durham-Raleigh area and applied about 2 weeks after you did, at the very end of June. I've been so nervous waiting for my interview letter or any update on the case, just hoping my case didn't get lost somewhere in the process. I kept checking this forum thread because I saw you also were applying in the area and hadn't received any notice, and I figured my case couldn't be the only one "stuck" for what felt like a long time.

I'm now hoping that maybe in 2-3 weeks I'll get my interview letter. Fingers crossed!!!

Thanks for updating your status :)

I am glad that you are happy to read this forum and now have a projection about the progress of your own case.

However, I want to have a friendly criticism here;

I wish you did not stay silent but shared your own story when we were discussing about the background checks with Callum, Nevin, and other folks since September. Then i would not feel like I was the only person from my area stuck in background check. I saw your timeline from same area with myself, but since you were not sharing anything, seriously I thought you were already done with your application.

Well, with this opportunity, I want to remind everybody that the reason why so many people join into this forum is to discuss and share their own story and updates so that others can benefit from those updates and have an idea about the speed of case progresses to have a projection about their own cases.

Therefore; please contribute as well if you are benefiting from the contributions of others in the forum.

Once again good luck to you and everybody waiting at any stage during his/her own naturalization journey.

Thanks,

Srius

Interesting. At the time of my swearing in, I will be at 4 months, 20 days since they received my application.

But seeing as I will have been a guest in the United States for 38 years, 11 months, and 25 days, maybe it isn't so bad :)

That is fairly close to my age maybe you should receive little medal of honor at the oath ceremony :)

GOLFER , I upvoted your post, for sarcastic Great work USCIS!

But, in all fairness, I think the actual number of delayed applications is somewhere close to 10% , and not 28%.

Not only because Forum is scientifically in-accurate sampling platform, but also because I have a feeling that some of those who show no case updates simply abandoned this forum or weren't posting anything for a while, and I have no reason to distrust the earlier Congressional reports where the 10% were mentioned .

These bureaucrats have at least some basic understanding of how to carry out their misdeeds. They know that if they screw up 1/3 of all applications it can cause a loud uproar and there might be consequences, whereas doing this to only 10% of total applicants is easier to justify under various pretenses.

10% is a relatively little number, and if anecdotal evidence of majority of those 10% originally being from Middle Eastern countries is true, then it's all the easier to marginalize and disregard their plea. It doesn't matter that only 0.2% are ultimately denied the benefit in the end and the rest, or 9.8%, are screwed for no reason at all. The appearance is what matters.

The whole thing is so ridiculous that it reminds of fraternal college hazing before joining some prestigious club.

These are collective mental issues sitting very deep in the psyche of the society, and unless society at large deals with it this problem will persist and rear it's ugly head in any venue of social life in future. Some day immigrants applying for N-400, including those who are profiled by MATRIX like programs today, will be processed fast and efficiently, but then some other group of people in some other niche of life will be subject to these exact set of unreasonable and irrational anguishes and mental torture.

Some statistics and number crunching :) As of October 23 2015 almost 28% of June applicant still waiting for ( Inline for interview or actual interview ) That is 17 applications out of 61 applications. ==================================================

First Amendment and separation of Church from State has a lot more to it than most of our contemporaries realize.

The truth is, the Pilgrims were Puritan fascists who were only looking for their
own
religious freedom. They were too ... independent and fanatical even for the more mainstream zealots of English and European Reformations. They called themselves “Puritans” because they were dedicated to
purifying
the Church of England of Roman influences. They
hated
Rome and they
hated
heretics, and they
hated
sinners and they really hated
witches
. Their reigning English King, James I was also a foaming Protestant Scottish witch hunter, and was every bit as fanatical as the Pilgrims were, since they were all theological soul mates. But James I actually had to sophisticate himself a bit, particularly stifling his witch-hating fanaticism when he took power in England. He had to accommodate the more moderate and educated Protestantism that then still held great sway in his English Court and Parliament. This social moderation at home however, didn’t slow him from encouraging the exportation of sharp, Puritan zeal to his growing colonies in the New World though, where raw Puritanism would be free to dominate the new society he intended to found there.

I say with very little exaggeration, that living under Puritan rule in the New England American Colonies would be nearly as religiously oppressive as living under the Taliban in Afghanistan, or Wahhabi ruled Saudi Arabia. The principle difference between Sharia Law and Pilgrim Law would be that the Pilgrims let women show
puritan-whipping_thumb.jpg?w=244&h=244

their whole faces in public. the Puritans in particular on the other hand, weren’t all that put off by the Inquisition’s tactics or even goals in and of themselves. The Puritans and many other Reformers in truth just wanted the Inquisitional zeal applied unilaterally up and down the Church ranks from clergy to commoner. They just didn’t think you should be able to buy or politic your way out of being tortured into a confession of heresy. They figured that kings, Popes and bishops and priests were just as good candidates for heresy as anyone else—the more the merrier. Puritans in short, actually wanted
more
repression and
more
micromanaging of the Body of Christ. They wanted the power to institute the same sort of fanatical purification of Christendom that the Inquisition only
pretended
to enforce, and then only selectively, often for personal, social, or political reasons. The Puritans wanted their newly cleansed Protestant Inquistition to be
universally
applied to all Christians of whatever rank. The Puritans wanted
everyone
to be beaten into piety whatever his station in the Church or society– they just wanted to insure it was being done fairly and correctly by a dictatorial theocracy of their
own
design. We read about the Salem Witch trials, some decades after the Pilgrims landed, and think that hanging nineteen men and women as witches on the say-so of a couple of snotty little girls looking for attention was a fluke carried out by an isolated, small group of inbred fanatics. We think the old man they crushed under stones for refusing to submit to their trials was the result of some abnormal paranoia due to the bunker mentality of a pioneer colony in a harsh new land. When we read about the dozens of fellow colonists they just let rot in jail for months as they queued them up for their American Inquisition, we assume that this sort of fiendish treatment had to be the product of some sort of atypical mass mental illness brought about through a bad diet and not enough sunlight. But no,
that’s what Puritans did
.

My interview was last Oct.19,1025. I fortunately passed. I applied based on my marriage. When I submitted my application, I completed all the documents including pictures. Thought i will have a problem with the tax return bit everything went fine during the interview. It only took more than 3 months for my application to be finished. Now I am just waiting for my oathtaking to be scheduled.
