..mail AOS and IV packages before DS-260 completion?

Or must the DS-260 be completed before?

***We're concerned our paid lawyer might be consumed with other cases; we're getting the "problems with ceac site". The AOS and IV packages have been ready for some time.

I do think you can send packages before completing ds 260. as I read here, one of the VJ member already got her documents reviewed but she did not get CC because the NVC haven't reviewed her ds 260 yet.

Actually, your lawyer isn't tricking you, there really has been some issues with the ceac website. Some people haven't been able to pay fees or do the DS-260.

Yes, as long as you've paid the AOS fee, you can send in the AOS and IV documents. You need the AOS receipt print out to go with your documents.

Yes you can send them..... that starts the clock......

BUT.....

If NVC actually gets off their butts and reviews your paperwork before the IV fee is paid and DS 260 completed, they will checklist you for that.... but that is probably the best checklist to get!

In our case, to provide an example, we got the "send us money" checklist on 04/17, IV fee paid on 04/21, DS 260 completed on 04/22.... youngest daughter had a Case Complete on 04/30 (My case and oldest had other issues going on....) Our scan date was 03/12

I do think you can send packages before completing ds 260. as I read here, one of the VJ member already got her documents reviewed but she did not get CC because the NVC haven't reviewed her ds 260 yet.

Thanks. But before NVC gets to review DS260, it has to be submitted first. My question related to mailing both packages while ceac is almost done but currently shows Incomplete.

Thank you, you are correct about the ceac issues. I have been reading posts on it.

Our fees were paid over a month ago, and I submitted documents for AOS and IV packages to the lawyer more than 2 weeks ago. My issue is; they haven't been mailed.

This information is new to me and now things makes sense. Based on that, I surmise that the lawyer could be cautious about the part of your quote I highlighted in red above. Our DS-260 is about ninety percent complete.

You have to have AOS fee paid at least before sending in paperwork. That's what I read here a few weeks ago.

No you don't....... it helps, but not 100% mandatory.....

You need to include the bar-code cover sheet with your paperwork. The document checklist the NVC sends you with your case # is sufficient. The bar-code on that is the same as the AOS confirmation....

Regardless of when fees paid, my query was about any correlation between DS-260 completion and packages being physically mailed.

The mailing gets the clock started.. each day package ready but unsent (and DS-260 near completion) is an unnecessary delay to that clock.

Another Vj'er with a (should be) case complete but DS-260 pending here. ChristinaG knows what she's talking about. It's best to send in your packages ASAP so if you do get a checklist you can address it as soon possible, and if you don't, even if you have to wait on your DS-260, the wait isn't going to be all -that- bad. For me it's a pain, because our IV fee was locked in the system for two extra weeks after our DS-261 was reviewed, but if you're using a lawyer all your fees should be accessible and the forms ready to go promptly. My advice is to try to submit as soon as you are able, just make sure you have the bar coded sheet to include with both of your packages.

Not sure if you read the posts clearly, or perhaps I'm jaded and reading your post at a bad time. Almost midnight in NY..

Anyways, everything is ready to go from my end. Forget cc; heck I still don't have a scan date to begin with!

a) Both fees were paid -weeks ago; which means we should have the relevant bar coded sheet. Right?

b) DS-260 is almost complete. Lawyer sent me screenshot printouts to review. I respond within 6 hours. Almost all fine. (Asked lawyer to make a couple of minor modifications, takes over a week to get back to me to review those modifications).

c) I ask lawyer for estimated timeframe to mail to NVC -no response.

See why I'm getting frustrated?
