In the IV package do they request police certificate? Because I read on USCIS website that they understand that in Pakistan there is no reliable police record keeping system so the police certificate is pretty much useless.

So, what should I have ready for the IV package and the AOS package?

Please see if I'm missing anything here:

copy of passport

copy of birth certificate

copy of marriage certificate

copy of police certificate

Hey, you dont really need tax return copy if you are submitting IRS tax transcript because that includes everything they need. And you need to provide evidence of your income that should be above the poverty guideline by submitting an employment letter and previous 6 months pay stubs.

There is a thread here on VJ about your concern related to PCC. People have gone through it easily without submitting the PCC. I was also debating whether to send mine or not. I even asked someone to get it made for me but its taking alot of time so i will probably send my iv package without it.

Also, if the birth certificate is in urdu, you need to submit a copy of certified english translation

I've heard that you will still need to submit a license number of some kind if you are self employed, if you send no evidence of income they will checklist you .

Each state has it's own requirements for business registration/licensing. El, if you are a CPA, I don't think submitting your license # will help; but they will need verification of income as this comment mentioned. The income requirements I've read for self-employed individuals includes bank statements. I would include a calendar year and rolling year just in case they want to see all of it. I believe they would look for deposits and average cash balance. I would include personal and business accounts if I were self-employed.

No, if the interview is in Islamabad, then you won't need the police certificates for Pakistan. The US embassy site says, "If you lived in a country other than Pakistan, Afghanistan or the U.S. for one year or more after turning 16, please submit a police clearance from that jurisdiction." I think this list used to include India too, but maybe that was on this site. (http://islamabad.usembassy.gov/document_checklist.html) This information should be applicable to spousal and fiance visas.

Btw, are you a licensed CPA? Which state? I have two more exams to be licensed in Texas. Audit is the end of this week and I am trying to get Financial in before he arrives!

If u still havent sent, ask your wife to also send u scan of urdu and english Nikkah nama. Because ive read on VJ that some one got an RFE for not sending it. They want to see nikkah nama too in addition to the marriage certificate.

Also, on another thread, a pakistani suggested to get NADRA computerized english Birth certificate. I didnt have that, so i got it made in a day
